I will not forget the incredible solidarity from ACP every time I’ve been knocked down. I completely agree with the goals they outlined: - Severing all ties between Zionists and Americans - Re-establishing the First Amendment on digital platforms - Crushing media monopolies

Are the socialists in the room with us? I’m begging y’all to understand how manufactured all of this is. Sayed is a self-avowed capitalist. AOC stands for her own career. Bernie is a has-been and Zohran will have to capitulate to Zionist interests in order to pass his social welfare programs. Before you shout “but it’s Newsweek!” - the purpose of a system is what it does…

A question: If your political organization elects a member in your ranks to an official role such as, for example, mayor, and then the official refuses to meet baseline demands given by his local and the national leadership of that organization, have you actually built any power?

The protests against Mamdani’s inaction on Palestine didn’t only reveal a rift between his administration and the streets. They’ve reaffirmed the Palestine liberation movement’s independence from the nominal “allies” who seek to contain it for their own political aims
All three Palestinian-led grassroots organizations in NYC, Within Our Lifetime, Pal-Awda, and the Palestinian Youth Movement, have endorsed the protests against Mamdani, stood behind the student protesters, and uplifted the demands of the broader movement. The Palestinian grassroots movement in NYC has made its position clear.

Anyone still playing the “inside game” at this point to uphold the Democratic Party is nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing. This includes Rashida Tlaib (who smeared the resistance in Palestine + the AOR) and every single rank and file member of the zionist org: the DSA.
I need you to understand how bizarre all of this has been. Newly elected New York City mayors of the past have universally ALWAYS replaced the top police leadership to install their own handpicked choice to better assert their vision. It's usually one of their first moves. Yet Zohran; this anti-establishment poster boy ushering in a wave of socialist, radical notions and revolutionary politics, is the notable exception to this trend when he retained Jessica Tisch as NYPD Commissioner. This was the fundamental litmus test to whether he would be successful in truly fending off zionist and establishment co-option efforts/ pressure to assert their status quo in this regard. And for all the good he is doing on empowering New Yorkers economically, he failed in this specific aspect, in a way no one before him has. Jessica Tisch is a vocal, ardent and uncompromising zionist (see her past speech at the ADL), her continuation into Zohran's administration is genuinely as remarkable as it is unfathomable. For all the corrupt, crooked politics Eric Adams and his office endorsed; for all the abuses of his authority and wheeling and dealing he did particularly to cater to the mega-rich and powerful zionist class of the city; for all their vitriol and animated hostility towards Zohran and his ideological vision/ base— that he kept on such a fundamental component piece of that interest group in one of the most prominent positions within the city's political architecture— is truly astounding. Particularly given the authority she wields; the very literal monopoly on violence which has historically been used to assert not just the interests of the corporate elites Zohran claims to be confronting, but especially against agitators and aggressors attempting to break the influence of zionist power over the city and country. When he knows of her family's vast influence and ties to Israel; her father, James Tisch (chairman of Loews Corporation), previously served on the executive committee of AIPAC. Her prominent billionaire family has a overwhelming track record of funding all forms of zionist lobbying, propaganda and influence in the United States. Zohran knew there was a disproportionate bias she explicitly holds towards the zionist entity— a favorability she would invariably execute through force. And has been permitted to do so now; as recently seen with the clampdown on hundreds of protestors demonstrating against Netanyahu's presence in the city a few weeks ago. His decision to keep Tisch is eerily similar to how Obama, who came into office riding a wave of popularity stoked up by his opposition to the (Republican) Bush administration's wars overseas, retained Bush's Defense Secretary Robert Gates when he came into office. For all his campaigning on *change* and promises to end the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan, he persisted with keeping intact one of the most integral parts of that mandate— those wars never ended as a result. Inheriting a key figure from your fierce political rival? Choosing not to replace them is not customary— to keep any cabinet member from the previous administration. Ever. Which made it so strange at the time. That you claim to be opposed in every metric to that past administration in practice and ideals, yet carry forward with a critical member from it? It seems to be the exact same phenomenon as Obama here. For all his rousing rhetoric denouncing the zionist lobby and its stranglehold; for all his promises of a cultural change to the contemporary political infrastructure— he has submitted to their demands rather than resisting them. He has seemingly taken the revolutionary fervor that existed in the city to get him into office and now it's the same old lines.

Clocked it. 0 mention of Palestine. I support DSA’s critical shift to making the same demands the Palestine Movement has… but sad to see Palestine being forced out of the conversation. xitter.cf/guychristensen_/status…

We demand that Mayor Zohran Mamdani fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and use every power available to him to drive ICE out of New York City. We further demand the mayor abolish the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) and Community Response Team (CRT).

if it looks like counterinsurgency, functions like counterinsurgency, and communicates like counterinsurgency, then it probably is counterinsurgency
Darializa Avila Chevalier Peace policing as the NYPD opened the road which protesters were blocking to stop ICE. She did the same thing to me at Columbia multiple times. Imagine getting tossed by the NYPD and telling everyone to stop when they already separated.
