My heart is broken for the family and friends of Jaelynn Willey, one of the victims of the recent shooting at Great Mills High School in Maryland. This tragedy further underscores our need to act with urgency to ensure our students and teachers are safe at school.

WATCH: This precious little girl sent me a video thanking me for creating @TheReachOutApp and for my work on #StopSchoolViolenceAct.
Then, Twitter users attacked her and her mom, so she wanted to explain her story and why she made the video for me. teapaw.org/aliceforkey1/status/97…
"You should love your neighbor. You should be there for them. Sit with them at lunch...tell them that you will be there for them whenever they need you."
This is why we created @TheReachOutApp. Angelica Mansfield is the type of voice our schools need.

This is not ok.
Physically assaulting another student doesn't help to end school violence. It iS school violence.
No matter how you identify politically, violence is not the answer. #ReachOut to people you disagree with and build bridges. teapaw.org/calebparke/status/9747…
