If a white person born in Australia can be Australian without Aboriginal ancestry, and a white person born in America can be American without Native American ancestry, why can't a Black person born in England be English without Anglo-Saxon ancestry?

Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, has praised Vladimir Putin as a “humanitarian”. Apparently invading your neighbour is fine as long as you eventually let one of your prisoners go home.

Self-appointed community patrol discovers the community doesn’t necessarily want them in its pub. Naturally, it’s everyone else who’s brainwashed.

Mark Allen has entertained snooker fans for over 20 years, but no tournament victory matters more than seeing him come through this. His honesty about his mental health will undoubtedly help others who are suffering in silence. Forget the snooker for now, Mark. Your health comes first.
A statement on yesterday….. Everything I said in that interview was true. However, rest assured I’m doing my best to turn things round. I have been in a mental health clinic for the last 10 weeks, finally discharging so I could attempt to play in Belfast I owed that to my family, in particular my daughter to see me play for what could be the last time….. I also owed it to the fans who have supported me throughout my 21 years on tour I also owed that to World Snooker who have been amazing from day on in all this, in particular Simon Brownell and Neil Tomkins who have remained in touch regularly, even Simon paying me a visit in the clinic itself I’m not ok, but I’m ok in that itself. I’ve been much worse in the last few months than you saw yesterday. I literally didn’t see a future in anything….. My daughter kept me going, the therapists, staff and all the other patients were amazing and helped me through some really dark days I see the light now that I couldn’t see before but I do now. I also know it won’t happen overnight. I’m a work in progress!!! My fight and determination on the table has always been there for ones to see. I need to show those same fighting qualities off it now for a while Please don’t detract anything from Jordan yesterday, he’s been aware of my struggles and that can’t have been easy to play in but he handled it with grace and skill as I knew he would. Im proud to call him a friend I hope the rest of the event is a success and I will continue my treatments going forward and then see what’s ahead Thank you to every single message I have received on here, instagram, Facebook, text messages and WhatsApp’s, I’ve seen them all but a bit overwhelmed to reply right now. Just know that they have helped me a lot but I’m not going anywhere just yet!!!! I have so much to live for and this is only the beginning of my new journey Also, I was not made to do any interviews, I was simply given a choice and felt I owed it to everyone to speak. The media team at WST have been incredible through all this too Thank you all x

If a poor person spends £5 on a coffee, they’re told that’s why they can’t afford a house. If a millionaire spends £50,000 on a watch, they’re celebrated for enjoying their success. Why does financial responsibility only seem to be demanded of people with no money?

Police respond to an allegation of stolen nappies. A one-year-old child ends up dead. Mississippi’s Attorney General rules the shooting was “justified”. Whatever the circumstances, a child’s death demands full transparency and accountability. How can anyone disagree?

Banned from Asda for three years over alleged racist behaviour. Blames woke lefties. Then casually jokes about driving off without paying for petrol. Racism, entitlement and petrol theft jokes. Quite the CV.

If a 16-year-old can solve quadratic equations but doesn’t understand interest rates, mortgages or income tax, have we really prepared them for adult life? Why do we measure educational success by what students can remember rather than what they can actually use?

If someone earns £100,000 working 30 hours a week, they’re successful. If someone earns £25,000 working 50 hours a week, they’re told to work harder. When did the amount of money you earn become a measure of how hard you work?

A question for those who constantly tell us Britain is under threat: Why do some of you spend considerably more time attacking refugees than criticising Vladimir Putin? Genuine question.

GB News launching a radio station playing exclusively British music. Presumably they'll be checking the passports of every singer, guitarist and drummer before allowing their songs on air. Wonder whether they'll discover where rock, blues, reggae and ska originated.

Jim Cross immediately blamed a Muslim for the attack on Helen Haines. The man charged is Brendan Nugent, 43. Amazing how quickly some people become experts in terrorism statistics when all they’re really doing is advertising their prejudices.

If a struggling parent receives £100 in benefits, they’re accused of depending on the taxpayer. If a wealthy company receives millions in government support, it’s called protecting jobs. Why is public money shameful when it helps the poor but sensible when it helps the rich?

Here's a question for Britain's Trump-worshipping ‘patriots’: If respecting British troops is so important to you, why should Trump's administration get a free pass when its Defence Secretary belittles NATO allies?

If you believe people should be free to wear whatever they want, why does that freedom suddenly disappear when a woman chooses to wear a hijab? Surely freedom includes the right to make choices you personally wouldn’t make?

Every time there’s unrest in Europe, the same people immediately blame immigration. France is the latest example. But what if the real causes of public anger have been building for nearly 20 years? Let’s talk about what people conveniently ignore.

Of course immigration can affect housing demand, public services and labour markets. Those effects deserve serious discussion. But immigration cannot explain every economic problem. It didn’t cause the 2008 banking crisis, COVID or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We should stop pretending otherwise.

Here’s what frustrates me. We’ve endured financial crises, austerity, a pandemic, an energy shock and years of pressure on household budgets. Yet whenever people protest, someone inevitably points at immigrants. Perhaps we should spend more time questioning economic decisions and less time blaming convenient targets.
