Perfectly stated
The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

“Catholics in the United States and outside the Holy Land” must “look at this conflict through the eyes of faith and conscience, rather than through political or ideological polarization,” Bishop William Shomali says. “Christians are called to name things as they are and to condemn injustice and violence wherever they occur and whoever commits them.” zeale.co/news/articles/exclu

100% agree. AI is and should be a tool to serve humans, not to deepfake them. To the extent that AI voice should sound human, it should be for intelligibility — making it easier for us to accomplish something — not whatever this is.
i'll say it. this is the most braindead direction in AI right now the tech is insane, yes. it sounds human, it laughs, it stops mid sentence, it drops the “uuhh” that's EXACTLY what's wrong with it we spent decades making computers fast and precise and now we're paying billions to make them hesitate like a nervous dude when i talk to a model i want answers AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. i don't want a fake friend that talks over me if you want a human experience go talk to a REAL human with REAL emotions. touch grass bro please and honestly if you're so lonely that you need a machine to fake pauses and laughs for you, that's not a product problem, that's a you problem this app is cooking people's brains and this is the proof

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

Bingo
Maybe the most important commercial ever made. You should watch it very carefully, pay close attention, and then make sure that your own family and home life are exactly the opposite of this ad in every single respect. I don't think that's the takeaway Apple had in mind however.

We all agree that this is the most annoying way ever created to enter a birthdate, right?

Our God is the God of life. In no way can Hassan’s actions be condoned but this decision is a barbaric promotion of a culture of death and must be reconsidered. The word of God exhorts us: ‘do not repay anyone evil for evil' (Romans 12:17). usccb.org/news/2026/usccb-pr

Pope Francis wouldn’t tweet for weeks at a time, then occasionally drop bangers like this.
The earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth.

I always thought @Jacob_Rees_Mogg was Catholic, but I was obviously mistaken about that because I’m listening to him defend the use of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg explains how Britain, which has a combat ready military force about half the size of New York’s police department, must prepare for war with Russia. 0:00 What Is This War and Why Does Britain Need to Fight It? 19:40 Is There Majority Support for War With Russia? 25:02 Will We See a Nuclear Exchange? 26:18 Is Using Nuclear Weapons Accepted in Christianity? 33:15 Was WWII Good for Britain? 39:08 Is Ukraine a Sovereign Country? 47:29 Would Hitler Have Invaded Britain? 53:45 Britain's Attacks on Anti-War Voices 58:38 Is a War With Russia Worth the Lives of Britons? 1:03:07 What Has the British Government Done With Palestine Action?

THIS. 100% this.
Kudos to Pope Leo. I am disturbed by how some of my fellow AI researchers keep trying to elevate the moral standing of checkpoints and harnesses. I hope the rest of us on Team Meatbag reject this movement and stay focused on solving real problems and helping actual humans.

Let’s go!!
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

@Eglisecatho
