ALT A wonderful evening at University College Dublin, discussing my opera Dante at the Trapdoor Theatre. My sincere thanks to Dr Ciarán Crilly and Dr Serena Laiena for such a thoughtful conversation, and to everyone who joined us for Dante’s Inferno: Reloaded. It was a pleasure to revisit the work in this setting and to see the exhibition of student work alongside excerpts from the opera. Very grateful to UCD for the warm welcome — and always lovely to be back in Ireland. 🇮🇪 — Patrick Cassidy #PatrickCassidy #Dante #Opera #DanteOpera #UniversityCollegeDublin

ALT I’m delighted that my Mairseail Rí Lir (King Lir’s March) will be performed by Ceol na Mara Chamber Orchestra at the Official Opening Ceremony of the 2026 European Sport for All Games. The piece is from my Irish-language cantata The Children of Lir and will be heard alongside the Irish national anthem, the European anthem (Ode to Joy) and Limerick Lament. My sincere thanks to Oonagh Keogh, conductor and director of Ceol na Mara, and warmest wishes to all the young musicians and everyone taking part in this special evening. - Patrick Cassidy 📍 King John’s Castle, Limerick 📅 Friday, 7 August 2026 🕕 6–8pm Programme and pre-registration: limericksportforall.ie
