James Madison heads to Southern Miss Saturday in a Sun Belt game with real standings weight. JMU rates out at plus-10.9, Southern Miss at minus-16.0, nearly a 27-point gap on paper. That's not the kind of margin a conference game is supposed to have this late.
Tommy Carr's performance against Rutgers has Michigan fully behind him as the starter. He's up to 503 passing yards and 114 rushing yards this season, with our projection putting his full-year totals at 748 and 137. His 3 rushing touchdowns are already nearly the season projection of 3.3.
Jaguars at Ravens kicks off Thursday at 8:15 PM ET, a short week for both sides. Baltimore projects to 10.3 wins with a net rating of plus-3.83, Jacksonville sits at 9.3 and plus-2.28. Close enough on paper that Joe Fagnano's ankle status matters more than the spread.
Monday night closes Week 8 with Bears at Seahawks, 8:15 PM ET. Seattle is favored by 3. We already ran the simulation, and you can watch the full recording on the Sports Terminal app before kickoff. Once the real games start, Game Day shows every live game at once on one screen.
Week 7 split right down the middle. Half the league handed out blowouts, topped by a 30-point margin, while seven games were decided by one score. Fourteen games, two completely different sports being played.
Luka Doncic just had a five-steal night against the Raptors and is talking about his defense as a work in progress. He's at 1.6 steals per game this season, the same rate as Kris Dunn, except Dunn got there in 82 games and Doncic in 64. The appetite for it looks real.
Michigan is sticking with Tommy Carr for the foreseeable future, which tells you where Bryce Underwood stands right now. He's at 924 passing yards and 222 rushing yards this season, with our projection putting him at 1,110 and 329 for the year. Not much season left to add to that.
Penguins recalled Justin Brazeau. Last season he put up 34 points on 104 shots, and our projection actually has him taking more shots this time, 119, for fewer points, 31. More volume, less finish. Which number is closer to who he is?
Iowa climbed nine spots on our board this week, the biggest jump anywhere. USC isn't far behind at eight spots, now 16th. Oklahoma fell seven spots to 22nd, the steepest drop in either direction. A lot of movement in the middle of this board, not much at the top.
Wild Week 8 aside, the Colts quietly answered their own trade question by keeping Jonathan Taylor on the field. He's at 610 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns through 8 games, with our season projection putting him at 1,307 and 15.2. Our board still has him RB8 of 105. Why would you shop that?
Eagles got assurances they won't trade Saquon Barkley, and he says he wants to stay and help fix the offense. Through six games he's at 274 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Our season projection has him finishing at 751 and 6.5. That's a lot of football left to find.
One day out, Bears at Seahawks closes Week 8 Monday night at 8:15 PM ET. Seattle's plus-5.33 net rating says this should be comfortable, but Chicago has been competitive against good teams all year. The gap on paper is real. Does it show up on the field?
Texas A&M's path got tougher after the Week 9 poll. Marcel Reed has thrown for 1,388 yards and 8 touchdowns, adding 198 yards and 3 scores on the ground. Our full-season projection has him finishing at 2,187 yards and 13.8 touchdowns through the air, with 334 yards and 4.6 scores rushing.
Tommy Carr gave Michigan's offense life against Rutgers, running for two touchdowns and throwing for another. He's at 503 passing yards and 114 rushing yards on the season, with our full-season projection sitting at 748 and 137. The ceiling is still ahead of him.
Eagles at Commanders kicks off Sunday at 8:20 PM ET, and we already ran the simulation. Washington is favored by 6. Watch the full recording on the Sports Terminal app, then catch every real game live at once on Game Day once kickoff hits.
UTSA's Owen Pewee put up 3.0 sacks and 5 tackles in Week 8, the best single game of anyone in the country. Oregon's Teitum Tuioti and Wisconsin's Sebastian Cheeks each had 2.5 to go with it. Three different conferences, same kind of afternoon for the pass rush.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba led all receivers in Week 7 with 31.3 PPR points on 9 catches for 150 yards against the Seahawks. The Lions put up two top-six finishes in the same game, Jameson Williams at 26.1 and Amon-Ra St. Brown at 24.2. One week, one box score, nothing more.
Patriots at Dolphins kicks off Sunday at 4:25 PM ET, and we already ran the simulation. New England is favored by 7. Watch the full recording on the Sports Terminal app, then catch every real game live at once on Game Day once kickoff hits.
Chiefs at Broncos kicks off Sunday at 4:25 PM ET, and we already ran the simulation. Kansas City is favored by just 1. Watch the full recording on the Sports Terminal app, then catch every real game live at once on Game Day once kickoff hits.
