The shocking new ONS data finds 'partner abuse increased significantly for both males, from 4.9% to 6.3%, and females, from 7.3% to 9.5%.' No suprise which one of these increases is getting all the attention... Sources ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa…
Exclusive: Women and girls are facing an epidemic of violence, sex attacks, stalking and harassment after years of "lenient sentences" for thugs and perverts. A record number of rapes, sexual assaults, domestic abuse-related offences, stalking and harassment were reported by victims last year. And experts fear this may only be the “tip of the iceberg”, with hundreds of thousands of crimes going unreported every year. The Crime Survey for England and Wales estimated 12.8% of women, roughly 3.2 million females, were a victim of domestic abuse, a sexual attack or stalking. @Rachel_SUTDA told @Daily_Express: “How many more victims must suffer before we see the change that is so desperately needed?” @joymorrissey said: "Women need more police on our streets, rapists behind bars and a justice system that puts victims before criminals. Instead, we have a Government that seems more concerned with managing prison overcrowding than ensuring the safety of women."

There is a responsibility to carefully consider the evidence on working class white children’ educational outcomes and wider life chances, without allowing the conversation to be drowned by the culture wars. The important question is what issues and disadvantages lie behind these outcomes and what targeted interventions can help bring them into line with those of their peers. The issue deserves serious policy attention.

Last week, the Office for National Statistics released the latest data on suicide in England and Wales, and if you were hoping for a positive outlook, I’m sorry, but it’s bleak. Last year, we had the worst male suicide rates of this century. This year, we’ve broken that record. And this isn’t due to a failure of men, masculinity or a “toxic” male mindset; it’s a failure of society at a level that is simply beyond comprehension.

I've been looking at this report. You may or may not be surprised to find out that more than a quarter of victims of crimes of 'violence against women and girls' (where gender was recorded) were men and boys.
A major new report by police chiefs has found that a rise in violence against women and girls is linked to "online influences" and harmful content. In its first national risk assessment - the report said at least 230,000 children and young people in relationships were victims of abuse. They also found domestic abuse remained the most significant threat and described the scale of violence as a "national emergency".

It’s not just your local bombastic, Bugatti-driving podcast bro who wins from the gender war. A small army of organisations and so-called ‘masculinity experts’ line their pockets by stoking the fires of division and pitting women against men too. Sensational headlines. Hysterical slogans. Fear-mongering, dehumanising rhetoric… and at the centre of it all, bogus research that twists and contorts methodologies, placing a thumb on the scale to get the answers they want. So let’s talk about the research that too often strays away from scientific endeavour and strolls into dogmatic gender ideology instead… My new Ask Me (Us) Anything with @LisaBritton is out now! youtube.com/watch?v=bAYEaT8W…

Working class white boys highest group to drop out after GCSEs. This is a growing national crisis. Boys lag girls from nursery to university. They are more likely to be socially isolated – suspended from the classroom, excluded from school, and checked out of the workforce. Research even suggests that the much-vaunted gender pay gap has reversed for the younger generation, with young women outearning their young male peers. More gravely, young men make up almost the entirety of the prison youth estate and are twice as likely to take their own life than girls.  @csjthinktank thetimes.com/article/217d0c6…

The traditional gender pay gap is shrinking - and in some cases, flipping into reverse. In the UK, for instance, young women now earn more on average than their male peers. stevestewartwilliams.com/p/t…

Wow, I am reposting UNWomen in wholehearted agreement. What a day.
Dads deserve far more than just a fraction of time. Yet on average fathers get ONE-EIGHTH as much paid parental leave as mothers. It’s a gap in how we value and #ShareTheCare. More time for dads. More support for moms. A better start for every child: unwomen.org/en/news-stories/…

New @ONS domestic and partner abuse figures show 40% of victims are male. ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa… However, given the erasure and lack of narrative about male victims from national organisations, you'd think it was 4%... @CollegeofPolice @npcc @ukhomeoffice @MoJGovUK #Enough

Think about it – The group/s most at risk of suicide today are middle-aged men (aged 50–54) who are divorced, unemployed, and living in deprived towns in the North East of England. And so, to me, this data is yet again another reminder that all our glossy suicide prevention campaigns, our slick marketing schtick, and all our million-pound TV ads are still looking in the wrong places. No. We will not turn the tide on male suicide with a diatribe of expensive, celebrity-focused, London-centric, hipster-chic campaigning, where people wring their hands or wag their fingers on red carpets, blabber about nothing on podcasts, or invite men “to talk” at exorbitant trauma weekends. Because in reality, the men most in need of help can’t afford such things, and don’t even know they exist.

What’s more – Suicide prevention continues to be framed as a “mental health issue”, despite most suicidal men saying their issue is not primarily one of mental health at all, but one of debt, unemployment, relationship breakdown, child custody, loneliness, drug and gambling addiction, domestic abuse and Adverse Childhood Experiences. These are not issues that can be solved simply by through “men talking”. These are issues that need to be unapologetically addressed at a societal, economic, legal, structural and political level. So please stop saying to me “men can talk”. Most men already are, and they’re doing so beautifully. The issue is, as it always has been, that society refuses to listen to what men are saying. So let’s take a look at the latest data and ask ourselves: how can we all do better to turn this around? What do you think? ~ Suicides in England and Wales: 1981 to 2025 ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa… Understanding suicide registrations following a change to the standard of proof in England and Wales ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa…

I know, for many, the thought of “men’s spaces” fills them with fear and trepidation. As if such a place is somewhere men convene to plan how to take over and oppress the world; where misogyny breeds, and so-called “toxic masculinity” is cultivated. But I’ve been invited to many such spaces, and they’re usually just full of men playing ping pong, lifting weights, or talking about how difficult work has been that week. They’re places where men listen to one another about relationships, loneliness, financial problems, or difficult things they’ve experienced. It’s men walking up mountains, climbing trees, and cooking dinner over a campfire. It’s men playing board games, reading books, whittling sticks, or chucking axes at targets. It’s men sharing, and caring, with and for one another. I’m not saying malevolent spaces for men don’t exist.. I’m just saying I’ve never been to one. All I’ve seen are interventions that are quite literally life-saving and transformative, not to mention the extraordinary good they do for society. Health services win… the taxpayer wins… and most importantly, the men win too. So what’s not to like?
