Today parliament voted on a new offence of ‘criminal exploitation of children’ that would have sent adults who involve children in crime to prison for 13 years. The Tories voted AGAINST it. Under the Tories, criminals have never had it so good. – at Dewsbury, England
Adults who involve children in criminal enterprise should go to prison for 14 years. Today, parliament will vote on my amendment that gives children the protection they need. This is a critical test for government: are they serious about child safety? thetimes.co.uk/article/crack…

A supply chain “mistake”’has led some Spice (SCRA) to be sold as MDMA. Sometimes not even the dealers know what they’re really handling. How can you? #TestIt

Really hard hitting, but important blog from @DrLauraCN for the @VITA_Network . We need to have our eyes open to what's happening to children as a result of increased vulnerability from #COVID19. #VITA #modernslavery #HumanTrafficking #CSE #countylines
Thanks to @DrLauraCN for writing the first of our regular monthly #blog posts. ‘The Sale & #TraffickingofChildren During #COVID19’ this article highlights a distressing + hugely important global problem. Find it on our website blog section: vita-network.com/blog/ #VITA

This is why I reject psychiatry and the pathologisation of women and girls. This is why I am trauma informed. This is why we support social models of mental health and distress. It’s not you. You don’t need fixing.

A very powerful read, one that puts the sheer numbers of senseless killings into perspective. My heart goes out to the families. The sheer depth of the complexity of the issues calls for a drastic rethink in how violence is curbed. theguardian.com/society/2021…

My god people there is no such thing as ‘child porn’. Full stop. As @RAINN said today these are crime scene images of a child being horrifically abused or child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Can you imagine how a survivor feels when someone calls these images ‘porn’? STOP!

I’m so sorry to read this from Julia’s family member. It’s jarring how some murders of women are picked up and reported as atrocities and others pass them by. I’m so so sorry Sam. I completely agree with those who are saying that only certain women are framed as perfect victims.
Where is the uproar about my beautiful cousin? Where is the huge outrage and pouring of despair? Where are the vigils and protests about her murder? She was walking her dog, near her home, thats all and somebody must know something! #justiceforjulia #juliajames #wewillnotrest
