A colleague told me I should run faculty workshop about pirates and call it "OE Arrrrr", so I guess I have a brand now
Me: Yeah, big tech monopolies are convenient, but they’re ultimately bad for choice and the consumer in the long run.
Also me: Oh thank goodness! [conference campus] uses eduroam, that’s so much easier!
Giving myself the gift of time today and pre-writing some of the emails I'll need to send when I come back to campus in January. Does this count as self-care?
Wish I had the power some faculty seem to think I do where I could just make copyrighted ($$$) textbooks free for any & everyone using, I dunno, magic I guess
I've apparently time-warped back a couple decades since the only reference questions I've gotten today are about fax machines and card catalogs...?
I love that OER 101 webinars exist, but I wish there was more distinction made between basic level presentations and more in-depth ones so I know where to spend my time.
Conference this week was wonderful and inspiring, and now the only thing my tired brain can handle is the high-school AU my D&D group is plotting for their characters via Discord. Have a restful weekend y'all!
Appreciate Carrie Diaz Eaton in today’s #OpenEd22 plenary mentioning that open work is happening without being called “Open Ed” - as info sharing plans, dissemination plans, etc.
Loved this presentation - they kept it high-energy and fun, gave us practical and welcoming tips. Learned a lot AND didn’t feel bad about not knowing!

So much more than a poster presentation, @SmithShannonM and @OpenAccessElder have created an entire site of resources and information to help distinguish between Affordable and OER. Super useful! isthisoer.pubpub.org/
I really enjoyed this presentation - gave me ideas for directions to go with our annual showcase event. One to check out!

Feels like I didn’t do anything today, but I attended six virtual conference events, a committee meeting, and caught up with a (library) friend. If I also manage to get my flu shot it really will be a productive day!

I accidently said worksho today instead of workshop and I really appreciate that @The_Informaiden went with it. We agreed we can just call them worksho from now on. This is currently giving me joy. 😂😅 #typos
