The 5-and-5 rule in college athletics is poorly thought out and comes with a ton of negative implications. But somehow, what makes even less sense is giving 5 years to two NCAA divisions but not all three. How do you justify that? Give the 5 years to D3 athletes tomorrow!

When you see D1 offers going out to players that local high school coaches know would struggle to make an impact at a good D3 program, don’t be surprised that the transfer portal is the mess it is.
At some point, we have to acknowledge that a lot of college coaches evaluating talent simply aren’t doing a very good job of it. Too many players are being recruited at levels they aren’t ready for - and everyone acts shocked when they’re back in the portal a year later.

For high school seniors or their parents who still want to wrestle in college. There are still opportunities out there. You probably won't get much scholarship, it probably won't be your dream school, it probably won't be D1. But there are a lot of schools with roster spots

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: You can’t convince someone who doesn’t want to work hard, to work hard. Also, if someone wants to leave your team or organization, let them go. Never try to convince someone to stay who doesn’t want to stay —no matter how talented they are.

Coaches aren’t in the business of begging players to get in the gym/go to camps, but if you don’t, then don’t come later looking for playing time. It doesn’t work that way. Players get playing time by earning it. If you don’t earn it, save yourself the trouble of wishing for it!
