Cheese slicer. Tonight's moon and the Queensferry Crossing bridge over the Firth of Forth, although this one is really the Fourth of Forth when we count in the Kincardine one.

There is something special about seeing these three generations of engineering, spanning the calm Forth in beautiful light. The rich autumnal colours on the shoreline add another layer to the scene, complementing the cool blues of the water and the elegant lines of the bridges.
Do you follow the adventures of eFoil Scotland and the brilliant films of Derek the Dolphin at the Forth Bridges? Lloyd is the guest speaker at North Queensferry Heritage Trust on Thursday 29th October at 7pm in North Queensferry Church. Non-members welcome (£3).

All your favourite Queensferry High Street businesses are open and ready to welcome you during the High Street refurbishment works.
The High Street is closed to vehicles between Orocco Pier and the Ferry Tap until 18th December. During the works, there is temporary two-way traffic from the Hawes Pier end to the Boathouse steps.

It's still the Forth Wonder of the World!
Ten years ago today, the Forth Bridge was voted Scotland's greatest man-made wonder in research by @VisitScotland as part of the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site pipped Edinburgh Castle, The Kelpies and the Glenfinnan Viaduct to take the top spot, with 30% of the votes in the survey.
Other ‘wonders’ on the list include Stirling Castle, Falkirk Wheel, Caledonian Canal, Scott Monument, Bell Rock Lighthouse and Melrose Abbey.

The £3.5 million project to improve Queensferry High Street and the town centre for residents, shoppers and businesses has moved into its next phase.
There are new traffic management arrangements, with the closure to vehicles introduced at the west end of the High Street (roughly from Orocco Pier to the Ferry Tap). Similarly, new temporary two-way traffic is running from Hawes Car Park end.
Businesses along the High Street remain open as usual and your favourite cafes, bars, shops and restaurants would love to see you. Check out the offer on @itisoncom
Full details of the works can be found on @Edinburgh_CC project updates.
🚆 Engineering works continue across Fife until 27 October, as part of @scotgov's plan to decarbonise the railway - enabling cleaner, greener electric trains to operate. Where possible, trains will run on alternative routes, and replacement buses will serve affected stations. 📷 Here’s our Service Delivery Director, Mark Ilderton, with more information.
We’ve also put together a dedicated webpage to help you plan your journey during the engineering works: 👇

A plan of the Forth Bridge, 1880s.
The Forth Bridge is a wonder of Victorian engineering: it took six years to complete, with 55,000 tons of steel and eight million rivets. Find out more 👉bit.ly/ForthOpenBook

ALT General Elevation and plan of the Forth Bridge, 1880s. The plan shows the bridge from the side, with both the low and high tide mark. This shows that the River Forth at this section has two channels, and the central section of the bridge sits upon a raised section of rock in the middle of the river.
