Yiep, I agree. I think most people reacting are not really aware of why the legality rightfully favors Materia in this case. In part because well, YouTube sucks so your first impression might be that Materia is exploiting the system just because.

There’s no mention of ‘why’ Materia might have done this, only that they’re trying to hurt him - this is deliberate emotional misdirection. The statement positioning is deliberate - the intent is going viral (working); see every successful viral TikTok hook that came before it.

That being said, it would be incredibly naive from anyone to think Materia is doing this just because it's "Right". They're earning enough from this to compensate for the PR backlash.
