This is a really important interview by Rivkah Brown in Zeteo with Kenneth Stern, who helped draft the predecessor to the IHRA Working Definition.
He's adamant that the IHRA should be dumped, even as an academic and monitoring tool. He's very clear it is so "poisoned" it should never be used in schools, as the government is now planning to do based on the Bell review.
This is what Stern says:
“I think it’s become so poisoned now that I wouldn’t use it primarily for [data collection] or any other purpose...The track record of IHRA in the U.S., Germany, Australia and, yes, the UK has been to use [the IHRA definition] to label pro-Palestinian speech” – including that of pro-Palestinian Jews – “as officially antisemitic."

This is Pauline Lumumba, the woman who watched them kill her husband and then walked half-naked in protest. You may not have seen the photo, but it shows a Congolese woman, bare-chested, with her hair shaved, walking in the street crying, with a child tied on her back. That woman is Pauline Opangu Lumumba, the wife of Patrice Lumumba, in 1961.
Patrice was only 35 years old and had been Prime Minister of Congo for just 67 days. His crime was that he declared, "Congo is not Belgium's property. Our gold, our copper, and our diamonds will feed our children." Because of those words, Belgium, America, and his own army chief, Mobutu, decided that he must die. On January 17, 1961, they took Patrice, together with Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito, to Katanga.
Pauline recounts what happened to him in harrowing detail. She said they beat him for hours, pulled out his teeth, and forced him to eat his own speech papers. Then a Belgian officer, Gerard Soete, shot him. After that, they cut his body into pieces with a saw and poured acid over it to dissolve him, so that no grave would ever exist. There was no body, no grave, only acid.
When they told Pauline, she did not scream. In Congolese tradition, she shaved her hair to mourn her husband. She removed her top to show the world, "You have stripped me of my husband. I have nothing left." Then she walked barefoot from Leopoldville to the place where they killed him, a journey of 1,000 km, with her baby on her back, singing his name all the way.
Mobutu, who took part in killing her husband, went on to become President for 32 years with US support. Belgium kept Lumumba's gold tooth as a souvenir in a police station until 2020. Patrice Lumumba died because he wanted a united Africa, like Gaddafi. Pauline died in 2014, still waiting for his body to be buried, and she never remarried. That is the price of saying, "Africa for Africans." And you still think Africa's poverty is because we are lazy?

I will probably never believe the story if not that it was captured on video.
24years ago, during the Big Brother Brasil 2, there was a contestant called Cida Moraes. On one of the days, she was sunbathing alone outside of the house.
Then she suddenly heard a voice from nowhere calling her name (“Cida? Cida?”). She looked around and saw nobody. The voice sounded like her sister. But her sister was not, and is not inside Big Brother house. And no one else heard it. But she was sure she heard her sister call her voice.
What Cida did not know was that her sister, Gloria, had died that same moment from breast cancer. Gloria had breast cancer before Cida went into the game show.
Because Cida was in Big Brother House, she was already cut off from the outside world so she never knew her sister had become very ill and was in the hospital intensive care unit before she later died.
The game show crew informed her later that same day that her sister died earlier in the day around the same time she heard her sister’s voice -that nobody else heard. It was almost as if someone nobody else could see or hear came to inform her that her sister had died. Or maybe the sister came herself.
Otherwise how do you explain that someone locked out in a game show from the outside world will suddenly hear her sister call her voice the very moment she died? A voice nobody else heard? A sister she didn’t even know had become severely ill?
We would never know the answers. But Cida’s reaction was all captured on this video.
There is far more to this world than the physical. Pls don’t live your life thinking all there is to this world is just what your eyes can see, and your hands can touch.

It will force full compliance with the original disclosure law.
We know that Trump is deeply implicated in these files and we also have good reason to believe that powerful, influential men involved in Epstein's crimes have had their names improperly redacted. It's time for them to be held accountable for the horrors that they inflicted on innocent children.
Before the blue tsunami hit this week, Republicans had an incentive to side with Trump and shield the files. Now that he has been thoroughly rejected by the American people and MAGA has collapsed in the dustbin of history, they have an incentive to break from him. The behemoth of centrist-right Labour under Blair, Starmer and now Andy Burnham is not going down without a fight, albeit a very dirty one.
Their despicable and desperate attacks against the Greens, and against @ZackPolanski in particular, manufacture the false impression that the radical left is some fringe base at odds with the majority of the public. This is their big mistake.
Look at what just happened in the US midterms. Hope not only materialised in voters' choices: core issues like the Iran war, the genocide in Gaza, foreign powers dictating and decapitating US sovereignty, plus everyday costs of living skyrocketing, galvanised the electorate like never before.
Trump himself admits the Iran war "largely" triggered his defeat. The consequences? Former Republicans switched to voting Democrat.
The centrist-right faction of the Democrats is gloating at its win, but be warned: something similar happened in the UK when the Tories imploded under Sunak, handing Keir Starmer an easy victory. Look how that turned out.

Labour then brought in Andy Burnham to put a plaster over the public's frustration with Starmer, but this is quickly revealing itself to be yet another pantomime performance.

🚨 TRUMP, THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN. AND HE MIGHT NOT MAKE IT TO 2029.
The midterm elections have completely shifted the balance of power in Washington: the Democrats have won control of both the House and the Senate.
And now, a radically different political chapter begins for Donald Trump.
Starting in January, Congress will no longer be a clear path for him to navigate without obstacles. The Democrats will have the tools to launch investigations, subpoena witnesses, demand documents, block appointments, and put the White House under pressure.
Above all, one word has forcefully returned to the table: IMPEACHMENT.
It is not a given that Trump will be removed from office. But it would be naive to think that the Democrats will simply sit back and watch until the end of his term.
There are more than two years between now and January 2029—two years in which every decision, every scandal, and any potential abuse of power could turn into a new parliamentary battlefront.
The question is no longer just how Trump will reach 2029.
The question is whether he can make it there without facing another impeachment process and an institutional crisis of massive proportions.
Congress has changed. The balance of power has shifted. And for Trump, the next two years could prove to be the most difficult of his presidency.
In Washington, the political bill has just come due. 🇺🇸
Trump has transformed the White House into something that increasingly resembles a giant office for his own personal interests. And now, someone finally wants to turn on the lights.
The war in Iran—waged while bypassing Congress. The Epstein Files and the questions that remain unanswered. His past ties to Jeffrey Epstein. ICE and its immigration operations. The President’s business dealings—and those of his family—along with cryptocurrency ventures and potential conflicts of interest. A list that, in itself, should make it clear why the U.S. Congress has a duty to conduct a thorough investigation.
And let’s be clear: press conferences, slogans, insults directed at journalists, or the invention of enemies to distract the public are no longer enough. What is needed are documents, testimony, hearings, and answers provided under oath.
Impeachment is not an act of political revenge; it is a constitutional tool. And if the investigations reveal violations that warrant it, no one should be considered untouchable.
Because the White House is not a family business. The presidency is not a "get out of jail free" card. And the United States is not the private property of Donald Trump.
Holding power does not grant one preemptive absolution. And the law—at least in theory—should apply even to those who believe they are above everything and everyone.
