I've been putting this one off for a little while - the last time I'll hear a @jasonamolina album for the first time. Feeling quite emotional about it

Found these @therapyofficial singles in the charity shop yesterday - Loose still has the tour dates card but more amazingly the Die Laughing cd still laughs.

Holy shit, @CursiveTheBand were amazing tonight, easily the best I've ever seen them. Into The Fold and Downhill Racers were great surprises too. @OtherHalfUK were excellent too

The charity shop near the office has been a bit underwhelming recently. Today's haul was a very pleasant surprise! Hoping there's still more yet to hit the shelves

Strong haul of CDs from the charity shop this morning - 3 for £1!

Another good haul - top 3 were the same 3-for-£1 shop as last week. That Spiritualized album was the only one of theirs I was missing, so very pleased to find that

I was not emotionally prepared for hearing this just yet. This record should come with a warning.

One of the things I like about Tool is how their glacial pace anchors points in my life: Lateralus: bought on the way home from school Ozzfest 2001: post GCSE excitement 10000 Days: bought while living in Australia Roskilde 2006: days after returning from Australia

Fear Inoculum: just moved into the new house, second baby nearly due Birmingham tonight: approaching 40 and thrown my back out headbanging to The Grudge

Gutted to hear about Steve Albini. I always got the impression he was just a huge music fan who wanted everyone to hear his favourite bands - the All Tomorrow's Parties that Shellac curated was like watching a live mix tape and it was amazing.

He achieved so much, and was involved in most of the great music of the last 40 years, but he'll always be the guy who introduced me to The Ex, a band I'm not sure I'd have got into otherwise

How @GITPMusic are still playing Oxford after 10 years baffles me - they should be half way up the bill at @ATGFestival by now. Incredible live band.

Some very exciting post today. Never thought I'd own Electra 2000 on vinyl (and treated myself to the remaster of Astronaut too, which sounds AMAZING). But it really just pleases me that right now you can walk into a record shop and buy a record by Hum.

This is a rare event - in 20-odd years of record shopping, I've seen Hum's music in precisely three record shops; I know this because each time I bought what was there.

I'm running very late on the usual end-of-year lists, but thought I'd share what an amazing year 2023 was for charity shop CDs. Not all winners, but some incredible music in this pile.

Nice little haul from the charity shops this weekend. Those Radiohead ones are the 2009 2cd/dvd boxsets, which I was very excited to find. £6.50 in total.

I'm lucky because there are still a couple of @lowtheband albums I get to hear for the first time.

Excellent post from the @rcrdcltr 3-for-2 offer - not the usual sale fodder. I can't recommend enough that someone, anyone buys the Black Eyes LP recordculture.com/collection… I say this in full knowledge of Fugazi being on Dischord: Black Eyes are my favourite band on Dischord Records
