This is right on and something I tried, unsuccessfully, to address in my time on the school board. More affluent folks are not nearly as impacted, but hourly employees with less flexibility really struggle.
School systems are still built around a 1950s fantasy where one parent is home and is available for midday pick-ups, early dismissals, and weeklong winter breaks. f-st.co/tXsuKQN

The heart behind the question is the real problem. A friend I'll not name because I didn't ask permission to out him said when asking this question, it wasn't to determine his value to them, but to determine their value to him. So...also...that's my confession too. Both actually.
Sunday "services" have a gravitational pull on the focus, attention, & work of a church that can keep the leaders and body from moving their feet toward the mission field beyond the walls... those who will likely never feel the pull to enter our building...
