My addendum is that it feels like Vintage has SO MUCH to explore. We are two players who had never played vintage before and started from scratch and built a list that went 14-6. Get brewing.

I am playing two off meta decks at Eternal Weekend. Vintage out of necessity because I only own two pieces of power, but I think I have a sweet one in GW Moleman Fastbond combo. In legacy, I have a few phoenixes in the list. Phoeni? I think the legacy deck is very strong.

Semifinals at the (kind of big?) Canadian RC with Storm! Lost to the 7-silence deck, which I faced 3 times this weekend, and somehow miraculously beat once! Unlucky top 8 bracket but a very fortuitous weekend. Oh, also did a massive trade for my first power between rounds!

And when going through the leaderboard, don’t skip names to only call out names you recognize. These players may be accomplishing something that for them is amazing. Give them the recognition.

And finally, when it’s known-player vs unknown-player on coverage, don’t make known-player seem like the ‘hero’ - lamenting their opponents good draws, and being sad when the known player loses. Be impartial, and get hyped for the challengers!

The @FaceToFaceGames Montreal modern event is going to be an 80 or so person tournament where top 8 get like 6 packs per player on average. I was hyped for the event but I don’t think I have that in me. 6$ entry is nice for some but I need some STAKES.
