As children are among the fastest-growing groups adopting AI, @ficci_india and UNICEF will host a panel discussion at #IndiaAISummit2026 on “From Principles to Practice for Safe, Inclusive, and Empowering AI.”
The session will discuss the gap between child-centered AI principles and real-world action. It will also explore practical governance, design, and deployment strategies focused on safety-by-design, data dignity and protection, AI literacy for young users, and meaningful youth participation.
The goal: Ensure AI expands opportunities for children while robustly safeguarding their rights and well-being.

What does inclusive STEAM education actually look like? 🔎
🎮 In Cambodia, @UNICEF’s #GameChangersCoalition is helping adolescent girls build real-world skills through video game development. Adolescent girls are gaining hands-on experience in coding, design, storytelling, and financial literacy, while solving real problems in their communities.
At a recent National Game Jam, more than 600 students (65% girls) presented original games after six weeks of learning, many seeing themselves in tech for the first time.
🎉 Today, we celebrate the girls learning, creating, and shaping their futures in STEAM.

What if video games weren’t just played by young people… but built by them? 🎮
In this @FastCompany article, @Thomas_unicef makes the case for a future where adolescents are equipped to move from digital consumption to digital creation, and why that shift matters now. 💡
Through the @UNICEF Game Changers Coalition, game design becomes a gateway to STEAM skills, confidence, and participation, especially for girls too often locked out of tech and gaming spaces.
This isn’t play for play’s sake. It’s about building skills, closing gaps, and expanding who gets to shape the digital world. 🙌🏽

Congratulations to the selected teams of the first global @UNICEF Game Jam!
Your creativity and determination show how play - when designed with purpose - can help young people learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you to the partners & jurors who made this first game jam possible!💡
The first global @UNICEF Game Jam wrapped up with more than 50 original video games created by young people across eight countries, tackling themes from climate action to culture awareness. 🎮
Guided by industry mentors and equipped with UNICEF’s first online course for video game development, participants showed how video games can build digital skills, spark creativity, and drive social impact.
The UNICEF Game Changers Coalition is proud to reveal the seven outstanding video games selected by the jury of industry experts from @DambusterStudio, @MicronTech, @Samsung, and @Sony.
🎉 Congratulations to the teams selected by the expert panel!
🩵 Thank you to every young participant for sharing your creations.

To bridge the global digital divide, international collaboration through Digital Public Goods (DPGs) is crucial. These open-source tools, data, and standards enable equitable access and strengthen cooperation for children. 🧒🏽
Yesterday @Thomas_unicef, Director of @UNICEFinnovate, and Liv Marte Nordhaug, the CEO of @DPGAlliance co-moderated the @intgovforum's high-level session, “Digital Public Goods and Global Digital Cooperation,” which highlighted examples and best practices of implementing the DPGs.
The session underscored the importance of continued international digital cooperation to ensure no country is left behind, especially in the face of large-scale cuts to international development assistance. It also showcased how DPGs help address urgent development needs including financial inclusion of women and climate change mitigation. 🌍
Alongside key partners @noradno and as founding members of the Digital Public Goods Alliance, we believe DPGs are essential for building digital trust and shaping an equitable and secure digital future. #IGF2025 #DigitalPublicGoods #DPI

🎉 Leading cryptocurrency exchange @bitgetglobal joins @UNICEF #GameChangersCoalition to advance digital skills and blockchain literacy among adolescent girls.
Every year, adolescent girls and young women in low and middle-income countries miss out on USD 15 billion in economic opportunities due to a gap in internet access and digital skills relative to their male peers.
Through the partnership between Bitget and UNICEF Luxembourg, Bitget Academy, the educational arm of Bitget, will help UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition develop its first interactive, online and in-person blockchain training module based on video games creation skills development for teachers and young people.
“We are enthusiastic to have Bitget join the UNICEF #GameChangersCoalition in our mission to reach 1.1 million girls by 2027, with learning and skills-building opportunities”, said @Thomas_unicef, Global Director, UNICEF Office of Innovation. “At a critical time when global education faces increasing challenges, Bitget and UNICEF will work together to harness the transformative potential of blockchain to create a scalable model that equips young women with the tools to navigate and shape the digital economy of tomorrow.”
“Emerging technologies should not be reserved for the privileged few—they must be introduced early and equitably. Blockchain, with its real-world use case and potential for social good, is one of the most powerful tools we can give to our younger generation to build products that change the way we look at modern society”, said @GracyBitget, CEO at @bitgetglobal .
As part of the #GameChangersCoalition, Bitget joins the Global Video Game Coalition, Micron Foundation and ecosystem builders - Women in Games in a shared ambition to reach 1.1 million girls by 2027, with learning and skills-building opportunities.

✨ One of those “I’m so dang glad I live in Los Angeles” moments ✨
Recently I attended a #Startup Café Talk at The KINN Venice, featuring Sean Watson and @Thomas_unicef , spotlighting the @UNICEF Global Office of Innovation.
After seven years in blockchain and crypto—where let’s be honest, there’s no shortage of vaporware and hype—it was soul-refreshing to hear stories of real innovation being applied to urgent global problems. I especially appreciated:
💡 Sean’s focus on leading with purpose and empathy, in a world of growing crisis.
🌍 Thomas’ incredible work at UNICEF, driven by a North Star of giving and helping.
🔗 A legacy NGO like UNICEF boldly embracing AI and blockchain to expand access and opportunity, including developing AI educational tools to uplift our world’s most vulnerable children.
🚀 @UNICEFinnovate’s Venture Fund & Accelerator backing impact-driven startups.
👩💼 And 60% of their founders are WOMEN.
Big thanks to The Kinn for creating the space for this kind of conversation!
We need more. More mission, more meaning, and more purpose-driven innovation that serves people, not just markets.

The demand for climate finance is vast, yet current funding flows fall drastically short for many underinvested entrepreneurs who are driving innovative change.
That’s why we’re excited to showcase tonight at our annual Innovation Insights Dialogue networking event, 4 climate entrepreneurs who are illustrative of the global pipeline of talent and investment ready solutions:
🔵 Achim Haug, Founder and CEO, @airgradienthq.
🔵 Beren Kayali, Co-Founder, Deploy.
🔵 @KyleECordova1, Founder, AquaPoro.
🔵 Mohamed M. Khaled, Co-Founder, NoorNation.
By having our UNICEF division headquartered in Stockholm, @UNICEFinnovate has the unique privilege of convening these 4 founders alongside key actors in the Swedish and global climate ecosystem- including key partner @SweMFA.
By bringing together government representatives, social impact organizations and climate finance leaders to share and learn, together we can truly unlock climate innovation at scale.
Kicking off the two-day event focused on unlocking innovative climate financing, @sigriddiana, State Secretary to Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, at Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, in her opening remarks highlighted innovation and entrepreneurship as a key part of taking climate action. She noted that climate smart solutions are about driving sustainable economic development, job creation and poverty reduction in communities most affected by the climate crisis and that we need to spend more time talking about the impact of what is working. These “four heroes” … communicate good stories that cut through the clutter.
