FSDEC results: After a very successful pilot….. 66% of our patients are discharged home the same day. That’s 66% of our patients returning back to their usual residence therefore reducing unintentional harm👏🏻 @EKHUFT @TherapiesEKHUFT @SueBrassington #teamQE

The great palliative care pioneer, Dr. Robert Twycross, died yesterday. I am ever grateful for his mentorship, his friendship; and his extraordinary contribution to our field. He left the world a better place. @CSI_KCL @CicelySaunders1 @whpca @CanadianHPCAssn @AAHPM @EAPCvzw

'We’re notoriously bad at talking about death in this country, but having that conversation can help make things easier for your loved ones if the time comes,' said Simon Lawrence, one of our specialist organ donation nurses. See more: ekhuft.nhs.uk/news/let-s-tal… #organdonationweek

In east Kent we have a huge population of people living with frailty and 308 care homes and both are increasing! We got together clinicians, leaders, commissioners and lots more to see if we can really work together to make real changes! @EKHUFT @NHSKentCHFT

Palliative care is a high value intervention 👉Better for patients/carers who have improved symptoms 👉Better for the health care system though reduced use of acute care (and lower costs) Failing to fund hospice services adequately is shortsighted, it helps noone. @wesstreeting
Following our announcement that 20% of UK hospices have cut or plan to cut services, @St_Raphs, @trinityhospice and @PAHospice are calling for government action after their urgent requests for more funding have have gone unmet. 👇
