I have the memorandum decision granting in part and denying in part Candace Owens's motion to dismiss the Macrons' defamation case. The motion has been granted as to her in her personal capacity, but her business entities Candace Owens, LLC and Georgetom, LLC, remain as defendants. The court has also concluded that French law governs the statute of limitations, but has called for more briefing on which statute of limitations applies - the standard 3-month limitation period for ordinary defamation claims, or an extended 1-year limitation period for claims based on defamation aimed at a person's sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
