One insight from working at @OpenAI in mid-October 2026: Our dots are going pretty wild... yesterday, the two met for the first time. 4 weeks ago, I told people that the way I work had completely changed when I started labeling/naming my threads in @ChatGPT Work to keep the overview. After DevDay, it changed again. This time, the impact is even stronger. Dots are a complete game-changer for me, and I'm hearing this from my Enterprise customers as well. To all ChatGPT Enterprise and Pro users who are already using dots: let me know how you like them and what your top use cases are. To all others: fingers crossed that you can experience their magic soon. I wonder what's going to be the next big shift in a few weeks. Keep on shipping @thsottiaux @steipete

A little weekend humour from @PeterJ_Walker. Apparently, @OpenAI is leading in model numbering too ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜„ Beyond model numbering, letโ€™s look at some of the actual reasons why customers choose @OpenAI models and harnesses to build with. โœ“ Consistently very strong model efficiency (cost per task): GPT models are often ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ more economical compared to other frontier models. โœ“ Benefits in speed: get more tasks done. This also helps you stay focused. โœ“ GPT-6 Astra provides a new level of intelligence, even beyond benchmarks. That said, I default to GPT-6.1 Sol for most of my tasks. Okay, and I hear that customers really ๐ž๐ง๐ฃ๐จ๐ฒ working with @OpenAI. And then I hear quotes from some of the most sophisticated entrepreneurs and engineering leaders: "Since we switched to Astra, we doubled the number of features we ship". Thank you ๐Ÿฉต

Building a 3D representation of your apartment? That's quite simple now. It takes 20-30 minutes with @OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra. All you need a video and a prompt as input. That's it. P.S. You will also see the personalized piano, which I created. This has always been a dream. Now it doesn't just exist in my imagination but also inside Codex. And every time I think of it, I have an even clearer picture in my mind. What new things have you created in the last few days since the release of Astra? I'm very curious to hear about other ideas and workflows.

Over the summer, we have been sprinting on safety priorities; it's more important than ever for capabilities and safeguards to advance together. We have more to do but have made a lot of progress. We are also going to be launching our next model soon. There is an obvious tension here: on one hand, Astra is very good and we are excited to see what people will build with it. We are proud of our work. On the other hand, we are clearly in a phase of development where we believe caution is warranted, and we are pacing our progress to ensure that we can meet the safety standards required by new capability levels. Astra has been done training for a while now and is a significant step forward in both capabilities and alignment. For the models after that, we have been slowing things as needed to ensure that we can do sufficient work on safety and alignment. AI is getting extremely capable; no one fully understands the consequences of this. Managing the transition to a world with abundant and powerful AI to optimize for safety and benefits to people should be one of the highest priorities in the world. It is our highest priority at OpenAI. We have been living with the tension between being excited and anxious about progress for some time, and it is still discordant for us. We know it is much more discordant for other people. And yet, we believe strongly that the world needs to understand where AI is going and how models perform in the real world. More importantly, we believe the world will need aligned AI to manage the future phases of this transition. An iterative loop where society and this technology evolve together is what will lead to the highest chance of getting this right. So we hope you enjoy our new model, and we hope the world continues to take whatโ€™s happening in AI extremely seriously.

I've never felt this much behind as a programmer. The profession is being dramatically refactored as the bits contributed by the programmer are increasingly sparse and between. I have a sense that I could be 10X more powerful if I just properly string together what has become available over the last ~year and a failure to claim the boost feels decidedly like skill issue. There's a new programmable layer of abstraction to master (in addition to the usual layers below) involving agents, subagents, their prompts, contexts, memory, modes, permissions, tools, plugins, skills, hooks, MCP, LSP, slash commands, workflows, IDE integrations, and a need to build an all-encompassing mental model for strengths and pitfalls of fundamentally stochastic, fallible, unintelligible and changing entities suddenly intermingled with what used to be good old fashioned engineering. Clearly some powerful alien tool was handed around except it comes with no manual and everyone has to figure out how to hold it and operate it, while the resulting magnitude 9 earthquake is rocking the profession. Roll up your sleeves to not fall behind.

The rule was simple: one task at a time. Then AI changed it. Here's where it gets interesting. As I've been using AI heavily for building, generating content, ideation, and strategizing, I noticed something. I started using more and more AI tools and agents simultaneously. Quickly extending to two screens, then three screens at once. And I discovered a new way of multitasking. Having these different agents open and visually separated, switching between them intuitively. Sometimes it brings me into this very special flow where I feel so enhanced. It's like conducting a concert, being the dirigent of this orchestra of AI agents, collaborating with them. It's not only rational and conscious. It goes deeper. It unleashes resources inside of me that become possible through this dance. With AI, we need to think twice about concepts that are part of our map of the world. Yes, focus is important. But it's also beautiful to have an orchestra of different flowers in a bouquet playing together. If we focus on them one at a time, holding together the bigger picture in our mind, then they can continue to evolve and bloom, creating something amazing together. Something predictable, making a vision become reality; sometimes someting unexpected. Being open, curious, and maybe a little nerdy to invest time into this pays off. My conviction: AI is here not to make us less human. It's here to enhance us, to make us more human, after all. What's your experience with AI and multitasking? Have you discovered new workflows that challenge conventional wisdom? hashtag#AIProductivity hashtag#FutureOfWork hashtag#AICollaboration hashtag#AIMindset hashtag#HumanAIPartnership

What if AI advances so fast that your product becomes obsolete overnight? Barcelona to Munich. No internet. I started to reflect. At first, I worried. What if AI moves so fast that the app Iโ€™m building becomes irrelevant overnight? But as I thought deeper, I realized something: โ†’ Technology will always accelerate. โ†’ What matters is whether I deeply understand my users. If I do that, I wonโ€™t just keep up, Iโ€™ll stay ahead of the curve. But more importantly, Iโ€™ll be able to synergize with others who are doing the same. Together we can create amazing things. โ€ข Sometimes my product will lead. โ€ข Sometimes someone elseโ€™s product will. โ€ข Either way, co-creating keeps us aligned on the mission. โ€ข And that alignment makes progress possible. โ€ข There are many paths to reach it. Reflections like these became the foundation of my Masterclass โ€œ3 Capabilities and 9 Mindsets to Thrive in the AI Era.โ€ Because I want others to begin those reflections, go deeper, and have similar realizations too. ๐Ÿ‘‰ When AI does more, which human mindset becomes most valuable? Anchoring our thinking and systems to design an agent-driven future๐Ÿค“ Even if we're not all the way there yet, think of the infrastructure and tech stack that's going to be needed to get the most out of agents.
