…orders INEC to publish Okorocha’s name
Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, to immediately stop presenting himself as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Imo West Senatorial election slated for January 16, 2027.
Justice Egwuatu issued the order on Thursday after holding that Uzodinma did not win the May 18 primary election conducted by the APC and monitored by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The judge, in his judgment, held that evidence presented before the court proved that former governor Rochas Okorocha actually won majority of the lawful votes cast at the poll and should be published winner of the election.
Justice Egwuatu subsequently ordered the APC to forward Okorocha’s name as candidate of the APC in the 2027 general elections for Imo West Senatorial election and ordered the electoral body to publish his name.

Tinubu appears to be growing increasingly desperate as the 2027 election draws nearer. What is the purpose of this ₦70,000 allowance for workers?
Does he not realise that federal government employees are not the only ones who vote? Nigerians from every part of society will determine the outcome of the 2027 polls.
It began with the fuel discount, which ultimately faded away. Now he is offering cash to workers.
Is this not a clear indication that he is becoming more anxious about the prospect of losing the election?

Judicial outcomes in Nigeria are not surprising but are still shocking when APC is involved. We have become so lawless it beggars belief.
If this had happened in the UK< there would have been a data protection complaint, civil proceedings, employment/disciplinary consequences AND an independent police investigation.
In our case, we knew the end from the beginning. What standards are we aspiring to? A country were laws can be broken by those in power?
INEC cleared their staff and now the court has dismissed this suit - BUT the whole world saw and admin window displayed by an unauthorised user.
The rule of law means there must be accountability without political favour and due process without political persecution.
