the reason why i’ll never forgive justin timberlake for what happened at the super bowl halftime show in 2004 with janet jackson: when he was asked about it, justin timberlake took no accountability. instead he kept saying how appalled he was over what happened he even admitted to not rehearsing much when it was revealed that janet jackson actually did have a red laced bra underneath (which you could clearly see) but HE ripped off the whole thing when only the red garment was supposed to show instead of acknowledging how janet might’ve felt, he then went on to say how 2003 was a great year for him and he didn’t want to take any blame for what happened justin timberlake also said he didn’t want to be involved in any “stunt” and kept saying how frustrated he was by everyone else (even tho he didn’t rehearse much) mind you after the superbowl halftime show in 2004, janet jackson was blacklisted from mainstream radio while he was getting offered several opportunities

....Yes, Janet told Justin not to say anything. The issue was Justin DID talk, and he tried to frame himself as a victim. He also turned the situation into a joke after the blacklist was in full effect. I'm glad Janet has forgiven him, but let's not rewrite history.
