That being said, someone telling you to use paragraphs instead of a wall of text or not to misspell the main character's name is not a literary critique, nor is it an attack on you. It doesn't even have anything to do with fanfic; it's more analogous to seeing someone's trousers

unzipped or with a stain and informing them. Having embarrassing typos in a text you've written is nothing out of ordinary. We all have those situations when "shot" turns to "shit". I'd rather someone tell me than not.
