Dr. Pan, let me thank you. In 2020 or 21, I testified against a bill that would force parents’ insurance to pay for “sensitive treatments” - aka trans interventions but not let the payor - parents know what it was for.
You called me a bad parent.
Those words are what catapulted me into the person I am today.
You created one the most stalwart warriors.

This week a friend asked me: “If teen girls were caught up in a culture-bound mass psychosis, wishing to have their healthy eyes surgically removed, would we still be debating it? Or would we have stopped it right away?”
I think it shows our Puritan roots still haunt us. Human sexuality remains the great taboo. We can remove or damage a young person’s capacity for sexual function, and the people who object are the ones accused of being “fixated on genitals.” Naming the loss is treated as more shameful than causing it.

The outpouring of sympathy for Lindsay Clancy has overshadowed the deaths of her three children. That same tendency to center criminal offenders at the expense of others can be seen in policy.
You need look no further than Tewksbury Hospital, where Clancy has resided for 3.5 years. The Massachusetts Nurses Association says conditions there have devolved into an “epic epidemic of violence.”
Tewksbury is intended for civil psychiatric patients, but recently about 70% of its beds were occupied by people sent there through the criminal courts. Nurses are groped and attacked. Civil patients are scared.
There were 478 assaults in 2025. Yet the hospital responded by eliminating pepper gel, batons, and handcuffs used by security officers to keep people safe.
Nationwide, state psychiatric hospitals are overrun with forensic patients, who now occupy a majority of scarce beds needed for civil patients.
The growth is driven by criminal defendants seeking “competency restoration.” If deemed incompetent to stand trial, they can spend months in the relative comfort of a psychiatric hospital, with that time counting toward their sentence. It can lead to dismissal or create a record later used to argue for reduced criminal responsibility.
Forensic patients bring violence, chaos, escapes, and homicides, while civil patients wait weeks or months for a bed. I found reporting in 18 states where these consequences have drawn headlines, but the problem is more widespread.
The push comes from progressive criminal justice reformers pursuing “decarceration.” Aggressive litigation by the ACLU and disability-rights organizations is pressuring states to move criminal defendants from jails into psychiatric hospitals.

Women. Children. You cannot find them in this video anywhere.
Where are they?

When I was a lawyer at Gibson Dunn in D.C., we took our summer associates to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. A survivor spoke to us and said something that stuck with me:
Lawyers need to know the holocaust did not begin with camps. It began when Jews were removed from institutions - above all, legal institutions. Judges stripped of their robes. Lawyers disbarred. Then, when law-groups were Judenrein, they codified laws that made discrimination systematic and "legal."
First, you remove the Jews from the institutions. Then, Jews can be discriminated against without representation.
On Monday, Mayor Mamdani announced his 18-member Advisory Committee on the Judiciary. The Committee was promised to be "truly reflective of New York City."
Not one of the 18 is Jewish.
Not one Jewish attorney, former judge, or law professor - in a city where one in eight residents is Jewish and even Justice John Leventhal, recommended by the State's Chief Judge, was rejected.
It is estimated that over 50% of the New York bar is Jewish. That means there is a 0.0004% chance of no Jews being selected to the Committee.
Mamdani’s marginalization of Jews has been ongoing, and few voices on the Left have spoken up.
On Day 1, Mamdani revoked the IHRA antisemitism definition (top priority); he changed the NYPD guidance protecting houses of worship, eliminated Jews from the City's immigrant-heritage map, called for the arrest of the prime minister of the only Jewish state, and now created a Judenrein Judiciary Committee.
My grandmother, Leah, survived Nazi Germany. Before the laws, before the violence, she told me how she was pushed out of her high school groups. Then, once excluded from all activities, she was bullied and marginalized.
We are already seeing Step 2 in NYC. Two weeks ago, on a Jewish Holiday, two men were stabbed outside Upper West Side synagogues - one wearing a kippah- and yesterday, Jewish students were attacked. Every 26 hours, there is a hate crime against Jews in NYC.
In NYC, there is a concerted effort to disappear Jews from public life and leadership.
No one on the Left is speaking out. If this discrimination was happening to any other group, the chorus would be deafening.
To be clear, Jews will find a way. Many are already taking their talents elsewhere. When white-shoe firms shut Jewish lawyers out, they built firms that now dominate. Cardozo, Louis Marshall, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg all found a way despite discrimination.
But NYC will be worse off without us. A city government that is judenrein - cleansed of Jews – does not just hurt the Jews, but hurts the city.
The tragedy is not just that Jews were left out of the institutions. It is that the institutions were left without the Jews.
If you see this and have not yet spoken out, I encourage you to do so.

A man yelling 'allahu akbar' stabbed a man in a kippah at 86th and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side at 1:30 pm today, then likely stabbed someone else at 84th and Central Park West. Has apparently been caught. On the Jewish day of mourning. In Zohran Mamdani's city.

New laws in Afghanistan, introduced by the Taliban, mean that men can now marry girls at any age – there is no limit. Male relatives can arrange this with other men, and it’s only once the girls reach puberty that, in extremely limited circumstances, they can ask a court to dissolve the marriage. What’s happening in that country is horrific, and it begs the question why Amnesty are not putting all of their resources into tackling this latest child abuse atrocity.

Newsom’s K-12 all-gender bathroom mandate (SB 760) takes effect tomorrow. Think your kids will have total privacy? Think again. The multi-user all-gender restroom at the California State Capitol leaves urinals completely exposed in the open. Do not let Sacramento bring this exact blueprint to our schools.

West Virginia Attorney General John B. McCuskey just called for a national ban on cross-sex participation into girls and women's sports in the wake of his victory before the Supreme Court.
"It's time for a national policy on this issue," he said on a call with reporters. "This is common sense. Nine justices agree with it on Title IX, and six justices agree with this on Equal Protection. It's time for Congress to stand up, take a stand, and right this wrong—something they should have done a very long time ago."
BREAKING: Supreme Court upholds birthright citizenship, 5-4, strikes down Trump's executive order
The Court ruled 5-4 today in Trump v. Barbara that children born in the US to parents who are here unlawfully or temporarily are citizens at birth under the 14th Amendment.
Chief Justice Roberts wrote the majority opinion. He was joined by Sotomayor, Kagan, Barrett, and Jackson.
At the center of the case is the Citizenship Clause and four words: "subject to the jurisdiction." Trump's Executive Order 14160 argued those words exclude the children of undocumented and temporary residents.
Roberts rejected that reading. He traced the rule back through English common law, the repudiation of Dred Scott, the Civil Rights Act of 1866, and the Court's 1898 decision in Wong Kim Ark.
The throughline is jus soli, right of the soil. A child born on American soil and subject to American law is American. Roberts noted the words Trump leaned on, like "lawful" and "temporary," appear nowhere in the Clause itself.
Thomas dissented, joined by Gorsuch. Alito and Gorsuch each filed their own dissents. Kavanaugh concurred in the judgment but dissented in part.
Jackson wrote a concurrence, joined in part by Sotomayor.
So the nationwide injunction blocking the order stands. The lower court's ruling is affirmed.
Now do surrogacy wherein the infant is shipped off to an adversarial country.
🚨 WOW! Justice Alito is absolutely FUMING over SCOTUS giving the green light to birthright citizenship
"In my judgment, the court has made a mistake that will seriously affect the country's future."
"Suppose that a person's only connection to this country is that he was born here to a mother who was present just long enough to give birth and then quickly return to her native country.
Suppose that country is a strategic adversary or enemy of the United States. Suppose the child NEVER visited the United States while grow and was inculcated with hatred of this country.
According to this court, now, that person is a citizen of the United States. He can enter and leave the country as he pleases. He can travel the world on a United States passport.
Even if he plots to harm this country, he cannot be deprived of his status as a citizen, at least under current precedent." — Justice Samuel Alito in his dissent
