Wrong Way Marshall
Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall returns a 49er fumble 66 yards — the wrong way — into his own end zone, resulting in a safety for San Francisco.
One of NFL history's most bizarre, unforgettable plays
The Vikings would prevail at Kezar, 27-22.

I saw no women being assaulted. I saw no nose picking. I saw no ear wax eating. I heard no stories about men’s asses. I heard no strange burping noises, no slurring, no moaning.
And I heard no songs about homosexual hook ups at the local gym while an old fat man wearing makeup danced like he was wanking 2 giraffes.
I didn’t see or hear any of that during Barack Obama’s speeches today.
Just an adult speaking in complete sentences to an audience who appreciated every word.
It was nice.

My latest Letter to the Editor:
On November 3, the back side of your ballot will feature an incomprehensible “Question 2.” You will probably have a hard time understanding it. That is because it makes little or no sense.
HB 1300 was hastily put together by a small group of so-called “Republican leaders” and passed after a strictly non-bipartisan legislative process, or maybe I should say “non-process.” Those leaders are openly hostile to public education. They do however love the Educational Freedom Account school voucher program. One of those leaders directly benefits from the EFA program by providing online classes to voucher recipients.
The EFA program is run by an out-of-state corporation, based in New York City. The Children’s Scholarship Fund skims a guaranteed 10% off the top of the funds we tax-payers send them, and they are accountable to no one. Your local school administrative unit (SAU) will be limited to just 6%.
Question 2 does say that the proposed tax caps "do not affect classroom instruction, school-based services, or other municipal expenditures," which is nice. However, they're lying: it is not possible to arbitrarily peg tax rates to the consumer price index without crippling our schools and our municipalities.
The bill which mandated this ballot question (“HB 1300, Chapter 324, 2026”) makes even less sense than the brief and inaccurate summary on your ballot. It’s word salad, and not even good word salad: this is the stinky stuff at the bottom of the bagged salad that’s been sitting in your fridge since before Labor Day.
Keeping property taxes low is a good thing, just like eating more salad. But you should still vote “NO” on Question 2. Pour the brown fluid down your drain and toss the wilted greens on your compost heap. Remember to wash your hands afterwards. – at Durham, NH

Vladimir Putin is not a friend of the United States. I was banned from Russia for life for my work with Senator John McCain taking on Putin's regime. And I'm proud of that. President Trump should never confuse America's friends with our foes.
As a child of the 60s & 70s, I love seeing the @Rays play the game the way it was meant to be played: on a rug, indoors, in a cavernous no-frills building which looks like a warehouse! – at Durham, NH

NH Gov candidate @CindeWarmington on the American Dream: "I lived it. I know the American Dream is real, can be real, and we can restore it. And that is why I'm running."
I know the American Dream can be real again, and we can restore it for everyone in the Granite State. That's why I'm running.

Mike Belcher, speaking (as he always speaks) on behalf of the entire @NHGOP #NHHouse caucus, said yesterday that "Democrats hate Christianity." I don't know exactly what job title he will be given in 2027, but I 100% expect that he will be one of their top spokesmen & strategists. This tells me that bipartisan compromise will be almost impossible to achieve.
Mike Belcher, speaking (as he always speaks) on behalf of the entire @NHGOP #NHHouse caucus, said something yesterday which is obviously intended to sound deep and profound— but I have no idea what it means. – at Durham, NH
The already wild NH US Senate race is turned topsy-turvey by a totally unexpected blockbuster announcement: Republican Manchester Mayor @JayRuais has endorsed John E. Sununu. What a surprise!
I still think @ChrisPappas will win & win handily, but this is a game-changer. – at Durham, NH

SNL TURNED A WHITE HOUSE RENOVATION INTO A HOME-IMPROVEMENT SHOW.
And that format choice is what makes the premise interesting.
“White House Makeover” takes the familiar language of property-renovation television and applies it to Trump's plans for the White House ballroom.
Instead of treating the subject like a conventional political report, the sketch borrows a format audiences recognize immediately.
The makeover reveal.
The confident hosts.
The promise that a big renovation will solve everything.
But the White House isn't an ordinary house, and a presidential building project isn't just another television renovation.
That contrast gives the satire its starting point.
SNL takes a political story and changes the lens through which we see it.
Suddenly, a question about presidential priorities becomes a parody of television's obsession with dramatic transformations.
Mike Belcher was speaking (I presume) not just for himself but for the ENTIRE #NHHouse @NHGOP caucus (& for the ENTIRE @GOP) when he said the Pope sounded "very Greek" while commenting on the death penalty. I don't think Mike meant that as a compliment.
Some Republicans may try to claim that Mike is not in fact their spokeperson. They may even try to claim that the Holy Father did not sound "Greek." But Mike said what he said.
