The @TinyNatureStory next #lockdown poem is about the ant, Temnothorax albipennis.
These rock ants use "tandem running" to teach each other the way to new food resources or nest sites! This was one of the first examples of teaching in non-human animals.

These are so awesome. Ty Dr. King. My children enraptured
I provided some animal behaviour advice for @khosford_author's exciting new project, and I keep getting wonderful surprises through the door to read with my daughter 😊 #BigBouffant with gorgeous illustrations by @HollyRCB is a big hit!

With picnics and BBQs back on the cards, the next @TinyNatureStory #lockdown poem is about the wasp (at he request of @WaspWoman). They may not be your favourite, but these fascinating insects perform a vital ecological role!
Happy #WorldBeeDay! 🐝

For the grown-ups (and especially @AmberFirefly!) they suck water in through their ass (cloaca) into a pair of air bladders that absorb oxygen! 🤯
Next instalment from @TinyNatureStory is a poem about a little lizard 🦎 with a big bark 🔊
