We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

guys, i am thinking,
a 30-day cinematic challenge that will run for the whole of November, a very very simple challenge, here is what it entails,
you are gonna film just one scene, only one daily, you post it,( i think we should use a hashtag, so i can track so let's use: #trusttheprocess30days )
you don't need a camera if you dont have one, you dont need lights, just film whatever comes to mind for that day, and at the end of the challenge, you will combine the 30 shots, into a cinematic sequence, and tell a story with it.
i will figure out what to gift the best sequence, in due time. who is down?

I call crypto, and what it opens up, a Pandora's box.
We often talk about use cases and onboarding billions of people. I think the biggest reason it's slow to happen is how fragile security still is. Crypto has great qualities, but it comes down to one thing: nobody wants to keep their money somewhere its safety isn't assured. Self-custody and centralized exchanges both have their flaws. If most people in crypto don't want to keep their money here, people outside of it won't either.
But I don't think the bar is perfect security. Banks aren't secure in that sense either. They get breached and defrauded all the time. What they offer is that losses get absorbed: insurance, chargebacks, frozen transfers, someone to call. What crypto lacks isn't unbreakable security, it's recovery. No single point of failure also means no single point of recovery.
That said, I don't think crypto should absorb losses the way banks do. If it does, we've just built a more complicated and more fragile version of the system we already have. What it needs is its own way of surviving failure and protecting users' funds, one that's an actual improvement on banks, something more convincing and more enticing than what people are leaving behind.
So the most important thing for this space is security, and specifically making losses survivable. It's probably the hardest problem to solve, which is what makes it the important one. Crypto let a lot out of the box. What's left inside is the hope for a better financial system. Getting there is the work.
Good morning btw.
