My top reads from the past month incoming
I've spent my Sunday writing my little reviews... hope you enjoy my musings as much as I enjoy writing them!
I've been reading like a woman possessed over the past month. Book reviews featuring: an elegant meditation on memory, morally slippery antiheroes and slow burn novellas (superb for if you're struggling to read atm) that really caught me off guard... in a brilliant way. Reminder I never post about books that I didn't personally enjoy. So these are all genuine reccomendations.
A note on how I do my reviews: I turn down pages and write my thoughts directly onto the page then collate them when I have time. Like I've done today my perfect Sunday.
Maria's at Borough Market is an institution - my local for the best bacon sarnie in town. What's going on, why can't they renew their lease? They've been in business since 1961! Sad . Perhaps the market might reconsider? At least discuss another B market location? change.org/p/save-maria-s-maā¦
My full Paris itinerary!! Save this for your first solo trip or send it to a friend who needs a nudge š«” a trip Iāll never forget...
š Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris (honestly the easiest part)
šØ Checked into The Ritz (a MASSIVE treat)
š¶š¼āāļø Strolled past the ElysĆ©e Palace (didnāt actually realise until I rewatched this back, hence the confusion on my face lol)
šļø Shopped at DM Market and Maison Caillau (both non negotiable visits)
šš¼āāļø Back to the hotel for a massage
š½ļø Dinner at Espadon (book in hand for emotional support, highly recommend this tactic)
šš¼āāļø Blow dry at The Ritz salon (genuinely the best blow dry of my life!!!)
šæ Morning stroll through Tuileries Garden
š„ Brunch round one: Truffes Folies
š„Ŗ Brunch round two: Le Moulin De La Vierge (the toastie speaks for itself, I have no regrets)
š Eurostar home just in time for supper with James
Also a reminder: you are so much more capable on your own than you think. This trip reminded me of that, and I hope it does the same for you š¤
šDrop your suggestions below⦠where should I go next? Starting to think I might be getting a taste for this.
POV: your husband gets man flu the day before your romantic trip to Paris š„²
So here I am⦠checking into The Ritz Paris on my own for 24 hours. My first ever solo trip and I won't lie, I felt all the nerves on the way over.
But then⦠THIS room. š¤
Come have a look around, and please tell me your thoughts!!

Brides of 2026, read this before anything!! š°š¼āāļø
Iāve been married a whole year now (how?!) and there are a few things I really wish someone had said to meā¦
You do not need to make everyone happy. Itās your wedding, not theirs!
If you want to do your own makeup⦠do it. I did mine and having that quiet moment to myself in the morning was honestly so special.
The best part of our entire day. James and I escaping for ten minutes to sit in the car together. Just us. That reset was everything.
Practical tip no one tells you: donāt wear straps in the morning. Just trust me.
Please donāt obsess over what it looked like. Obsess over how it felt. That feeling is the bit that lasts.
2026 brides⦠what are you absolutely not compromising on? š
Come shopping with me⦠mildly unhinged š«
Why am I always teetering on the edge of being completely inappropriate all the time. Canāt stop wonāt stop. šš
I thought this would be a relaxing week in Devon⦠I was wrong.
Am I problem⦠potentially yes š.
Doing it pig style š oink oink lol
Hello holiday sooooo happy to be away. Our family holiday has begun⦠š
The fastest way to judge someone? Have a look inside their handbag. š
Iād like to say this was carefully curated⦠but unfortunately for me, this is just a very honest reflection of who I am.
A fork (always), three fountain pens (no explanation), and Montyās high-vis⦠for reasons Iām still unclear on.
Make of it what you will.

Calling all Londoners⦠I have a feeling this might be for you. š¬š§
Iāve been here for over a decade now, and I still canāt decide if Iām completely obsessed with this city⦠or utterly overwhelmed by it.Ā
I think thatās the magic of London though, you fall in and out of love with it constantly.
But lately Iāve been trying to actually notice it again. Not just rush from one thing to the next like a mad woman. š
Because when you do stop⦠itās kind of extraordinary.
So consider this your reminder (and mine) to romanticise it all a little bit more!!!
Side note⦠please tell me your favourite London spots. Iām always determined to find my new fave spot xxx

I canāt quite believe Iām saying this⦠but this is all my real hair.
A year ago it was thin, breaking, and completely reliant on extensions. I wouldnāt go anywhere without them⦠not even my wedding, which probably says everything.
At some point I remember thinking⦠what is this actually doing to my hair long term?
So I stripped everything back and started again.
I donāt have loads of ābeforeā photos because I was so self-conscious of how bad it had got!! I also donāt think I ever imagined it would get better⦠so I never thought Iād want anything to compare it to.
And now⦠this is all mine. Which still feels slightly surreal to say.
I genuinely didnāt think Iād get it back to this.
If your hair is currently hanging on for dear life⦠there is a way back. Speaking as someone who had extensions in for well over a decade. š¤

Final outfit reveal of Cheltenham š
And I may have thrown in a slight curveball⦠jeans.
After a whole week of race-day dressing, it just felt right for the last day. I rather love it - although I suspect it might divide opinion.
So tell me⦠jeans at Cheltenham, completely wrong, or quite fun for the final day?
What a week itās been!! š
Day 3 Cheltenham outfit reveal!!
I fear the pony bag may be the accessory of the week... š“
I saw it and thought⦠if there was ever a week to carry a tiny horse around with me, itās Cheltenham. š«Ø
Slightly ridiculous? Possibly.
But also quite fabulous?
Iām desperate to know what you think⦠is it genius or utter madness? Xxx
Day 2 at Cheltenham, here I come. š«”
The faux fur has entered the chatā¦
Partly for warmth (because itās chilly out here), partly because I live for anything animal printā¦
Race week really is the one time you can lean into it all, hats, gloves, layers, the lot.
But tell me honestly⦠is it a yes to the faux fur??
Very eager to hear your thoughts today! š
Day 1 Cheltenham outfit reveal⦠ā„ļø
and Iāve gone for RED⦠which may be completely mad, but I rather love it.
You certainly wonāt miss me on the course, think of it as my way of saying hello, Iām here!
Iāve been up since dawn far too excited to get going. Nothing beats that first day feeling!!
Now be honest⦠is red for the races completely outrageous or do we love it?
Eager to hear your thoughts! Let the fun begin⦠š
Packing for Cheltenhamā¦ šš«”
This is NOT a drill. Consider this your official warning.
Months of preparation have gone into this moment, from meticulous outfit planning to intense weather monitoring š«Ø.
I canāt wait to show you this years looks⦠theyāve been a serious operation.
If you need me over the next few days, you know exactly where Iāll beā¦
The Guinness Village. Obviously š.
Who else is as excited as me for next week??
One year married to you. I had a whole fantasy about what marriage would look like since I was about five years old and honestly? What we have is a thousand times better. The life weāve built is extraordinary - the highs, the lows, all of it. Me and you my love, forever ā¾ļø
Iāve had problematic skin for 15 years.
So when a breakout appears⦠I donāt spiral anymore.
Iāve learnt the hard way that panicking makes it so much worse. Throwing every product at it? BIG NO. Calm skin behaves better than cross skin.
When it comes to covering. Less is always more. Start small and build slowly.
What I actually use:
@ErborianUK CC Red Correct
@EsteeLauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation & Concealer
@BurtsBeesUK Tinted Lip BalmĀ (a bright lip is a distraction tactic)
The goal isnāt to plaster it into submission. Itās to quietly outwit it.
It took me a long time to realise this is just my skin, and thatās okay!!!

This is NOT the hair I expected from a Ā£39.99 Amazon hot brush š¤Æ
In all honesty, I didnāt have high hopes. As a loyal Dyson girl, part of me didnāt want this to be good⦠which makes this slightly awkward.
Itās quick, itās easy, and if I can use it then anyone can lol.
The Amazon hot brush was Ā£39.99. The Dyson was Ā£500. Soooo If youāre looking for an easy, affordable alternative, this is the oneā¦
