Last thing I'll say on Hasan is that if he was genuinely a positive for progressive candidates then Peggy and Keith would've been campaigning with him. The fact that they declined says he's a negative and should've just stayed away.

As DFLers, we must condemn hateful rhetoric, no matter who says it. Shame on @IlhanMN for bringing Hasan Piker to MN and giving him a platform.
You can’t stand for inclusion while excusing division. Our values should mean something, even when it’s politically inconvenient.

The federal government may try some ridiculous stunts over the next couple of weeks. I encourage all eligible Minnesota voters to shut out the noise, keep their focus on the election, and make sure they cast their vote.
BREAKING: DOJ is suing Alaska to block certification of election results if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses.

I was reliably told this summer that if John Hoffman endorses something then you dishonor him by disagreeing. So I guess all the Peggy supporters now agree that Ilhan and Fateh are horrible people for bringing Piker here.

I love matt yglesias man. Just a normal, coherent set of beliefs. Doesn’t have to contort himself or lie like all the lefties do
Me: "Do you know how many times you've tweeted about Piker since you wrote that tweet [about not tweeting about him] on August 30th?"
@mattyglesias: "Probably more than I intended to."
Me: "8 times.... you tweeted about Mike Rogers 6 times. So you're tweeting about the streamer you didn't want to talk about more than the Republican candidate you say you want to defeat."
Yglesias: "Yeah, that's fair."
Me: "Why?"
Yglesias: "What do you want me to say? You got me."
From my new Zeteo interview with the top centrist pundit - on the left, Michigan, Gaza, immigration, polls, electability, and more:

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Yglesias's posts since Aug 30 include ~5 mentioning Piker and at least 9 mentioning Rogers/Rodgers, not 8 and 6. Hasan posted about Piker ~35 times in the period.

Same but for Minneapolis.
Replying to @mattyglesias
I would sincerely love our Council to take a minute to imagine a person who lives in DC, has a job, is a net fiscal contributor, and doesn't commit crimes.
What have you done over the past year to improve the life of someone like that? What will you do next year?

Again, it's really hard not to notice which races are underperforming the environment (MI, MN, ME) and what they all have in common...
The Cook Political Report shifted its rating of Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race toward Republicans, another sign that a contest Democrats once expected to win comfortably has become increasingly competitive in the closing weeks of the campaign. wapo.st/4dOOGm6
Unsurprisingly, this was met with a combination of people calling me a “kike lover” and others telling me to go back from where I came.
This is a good take. Peggy Flanagan and Keith Ellison could be the adults on the left. Failure to do so is an endorsement of the worst the DFL has to offer. And yes, Ken Martin would never have allowed this stuff and we need a DFL Party leader that actually does the job.

JCRC is appalled by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and State Senator Omar Fateh’s decision to share a stage with Hasan Piker at their October 26 Minneapolis event. Their choice is a betrayal of Jewish Minnesotans and harmful to the broader public.

The Star Tribune's Eric Roper calls this race a fork in the road. Hennepin County needs a county attorney with the experience to make sure no one is above the law. Not fraudsters. Not repeat and violent offenders. Not federal agents who abuse their power. Read more here: startribune.com/mary-moriart…

I wish people who embraced loopy crime ideas in 2019-2020 would issue groveling apologies to people who were right all along, but genuinely the most important thing about this is we have won the argument.

Its been 8 mos and @MaryMoriarty hasn't filed any charges against ICE for Pretti or Good. Is it because the evidence isn't sufficient? She's a bad and/or gutless prosecutor? Both?

Smart pols don’t want Hasan Piker in town (for a vanity project) a couple weeks before an election because they don’t want to be answering questions about whether America deserved 9/11, whether Ukraine should Crimea a river, and whether whatever he said that day is antisemitic.

As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard. Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake. I am disappointed that Minnesota DFLers are hosting an event with him here.

Sorry. All the top Dems are pouring money into AES's race, as they absolutely should. $51M from Schumer. He wasn't their candidate. They're still doing it.Anyone with their eyes can see this. You need a new story when the visible facts are so different from what you're saying.
centrist dems are more comfortable sharing power w former & current republicans than their left flank who'll pull the party further left. we don't oppose talarico & cynically lean into rw attacks in the way that liberal consultant do w/ AES. we don't make a big fuss abt pappas low performance in NH. neera tanden is here to undermine the left and doesn't care if left flank dems lose their races in the process. her output and focus on the left proves this.
My parents taught me to take responsibility for my mistakes. It’s the first step to learning and growing. Watching that #mnsen debate today makes me think neither candidate has learned that lesson. Fraud is Peggy’s fault, too. Tafoya supported awful Trump stuff. Neither is ready.
It’s almost like moderating one’s extremist positions is the path to win elections. 🤷🏻♂️
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan has called the conflict in Gaza a "genocide" and when asked about her characterization of it during today's #MNSEN debate she noticicably didn't describe the conflict in that way in her remarks
