I and 125 others were on the @CTAudubon boat for this last evening — a spectacular few hours.
Loved seeing the tree swallows roost over the reeds on the #CT River. Such a unique fall event here in the state. I had never seen so many boats out there with spectators (who were very respectful of this natural phenomenon). 💙 #tourism #travel #birds #birding

Who can answer this #USOpen question? If you lose in the opening round, do you get paid anything? Google Gemini says no but I don't believe it.

I am literally right now editing a piece for @CTAudubon's 2024 CT State of the Birds report about bluebirds and pesticides when a family of bluebirds, including several still with spotted breasts, drops from the trees to the grass to pluck caterpillars and grasshoppers.

I left this off my resume: June 1 through mid August 1974, I worked at the Milne Library at Oneonta State (for $1.90 an hour). (I had just flunked out and spent way more time working there than studying there.)

Bumper sticker on a Tesla that @eilelieile and I saw in Stamford yesterday: "Bought it before we knew how awful he was."

Same, except I knew him and admired him when I was a reporter. It's as baffling as it is shameful.

The sound of an owl family whistling/wheezing to each other is thrilling. I've heard it twice this summer, once when 3 or 4 interrupted our dinner on the terrace.
Owlets on the roof! The siblings have been vocalizing nightly. Got these shots a few weeks ago. #owls #Birding #Berkshires

At Sehnert's bakery in McCook, Nebraska, we saw "bieroc" on the chalkboard menu. "What's a bieroc?" I asked. The young man behind the counter said, "It's like a runza." That didn't quite answer the question for a New Yorker.

So In Broken Bow, Nebraska, I stopped at a Runza restaurant and ordered one a runza. (Yes, this topic is what it took to get me to post here again) #runza #bieroc #nebraska #TimWalz @eilelieile

I need to hire someone who can make a map for me based on government data available on the internet. DM if you have any ideas about who might be available.

I'm done with X/Twitter. At its best it was a fun diversion & useful took. In the unlikely event that anyone who follows me (and is still using this) wants to keep in touch, I'm not that hard to find.
