"Empathy is the antidote to the cold, computational processing of life. To dismantle empathy because it is flawed is to suggest we should stop breathing because the air is sometimes polluted."
Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

Hey @Grok
Did Kanye West (Ye) claim in 2022 that Jared Kushner and his brother Josh were effectively acting as Trump’s handlers and holding him back?
He also claimed that the Abraham Accords were primarily about making money, correct?
He said he reached these conclusions after a dinner with Jared Kushner, Josh Kushner, and Ivanka Trump.
In several respects, Kanye appears to have arrived at a conclusion similar to one reached by Dutch intelligence.

While I was learning Chinese, we used to love the Confucius Institute because they'd give us free text books so we didn't have to buy them from the university.
I remember in my city, the Confucius Institute had native Chinese speaking volunteers who could help with our study, and practice chatting and so on.
When it was time for Chinese exams, which are super difficult for native English speakers, they'd do their best to help us go over our class material etc.
Absolutely invaluable.
Sometimes we could also take classes making dumplings and traditional fans and other arts. It was fun because you could learn new Chinese words and phrases at the same time.
And I can tell you this: never once was politics brought up, let alone anything else apart from our study.
Seeing that the US has classified Confucius Institutes as a national security risk literally made me laugh out loud.
Honestly, what is up with the US and why are they adament on accelerating their own descent so freaking quickly?
We've always known that the West, especially the US-led West, was declining, but I could never have guessed it would happen this fast, and it would be completely and utterly at their own hand.
The US is scared of shadows, and it's freaking hilarious. 🤣

It's crazy how times have changed. Ferrari once took legal action against Take-Two over its depiction of the Grotti Turismo in GTA San Andreas & GTA IV (Take-Two ultimately won).
Now, real-world car brands are actively jumping on the GTA 6 hype train, afraid to miss out!
Replying to @Lamborghini
@Lamborghini giving off GTA VI vibes with their latest post on Instagram. How freaking cool! Nice work!

In 1324, Mansa Musa of Mali made a pilgrimage to Mecca.
He traveled with 60,000 people and 100 camel-loads of gold.
He gave away so much gold in Cairo that he collapsed the regional gold market for a decade.
A decade. From generosity on a journey.
His empire covered more territory than Western Europe. His capital, Niani, was a center of scholarship, trade, and governance sophisticated enough that visiting Arab historians wrote about it with undisguised admiration.
This was not a primitive society waiting for civilization to arrive.
This was a civilization.
One of the great ones. By any measure that wasn’t specifically designed to exclude it.
The colonizers who arrived in West Africa centuries later did not bring civilization to a void.
They dismantled something that was already there.
The textbooks that don’t mention Mansa Musa at all, not once, not a paragraph, are not gaps in education.
They are a decision. Made deliberately. Maintained consistently.
Because his existence changes the sentence.

ALT Mansa Musa, Emperor of Mali (c. 1312–1337), depicted in the Catalan Atlas of 1375, attributed to the Majorcan cartographer Abraham Cresques. Seated on his throne, holding a golden orb and sceptre, Mansa Musa is described in the original medieval Catalan inscription as "the richest and noblest ruler of this whole region because of the abundance of gold that is found in his lands." Medieval Europe knew of Africa’s wealth and powerful civilizations centuries before European colonial conquest. Source: Catalan Atlas, c. 1375.
