Protect Rabbits from Pet Theft Following recent shocking incidents involving pet rabbits, I've launched a petition calling for rabbits to be included in the Pet Abduction Act 2024. Rabbits are the UK's third most popular mammalian pet, yet they're excluded from the specific protections given to dogs and cats. Why should our rabbits deserve any less protection? I understand the PM’s determination to help more young people into work. But we have to be careful with language like “I don’t want to see anyone in their 20s on benefits.” Some young people have lifelong disabilities, serious illnesses or genuine support needs. Labour must always protect those who need our safety net most. #PMQs

ITV’s investigation is sickening. Reform councillors calling Muslims “parasites”, Black children “animals” and discussing forced deportations. These are elected representatives, not anonymous internet trolls. The “few bad apples” excuse simply doesn’t wash. Where is the accountability? itv.com/news/2026-10-14/insi… – at Thurston, England

At a time when misinformation and disinformation are spreading across the world, the importance of trusted, independent journalism cannot be overstated. Today, I asked the Prime Minister to reaffirm his support for the BBC World Service - Britain's voice to the world, and a vital voice for truth and facts. I'm pleased he confirmed his strong support for both the World Service and the BBC as a whole. 👇 – at London, England

Trump wants Zelenskyy replaced while America buys Russian diesel. Let’s be absolutely clear: Putin invaded Ukraine, not the other way around. You don't achieve peace by punishing the victim and bankrolling the aggressor. Ukraine's future belongs to Ukrainians. Not Trump. Not Putin. theguardian.com/politics/202… – at Thurston, England

A fantastic evening at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, for the opening night of Switzerland! A gripping psychological thriller, with superb performances from Catherine Russell and Jamie Sayers. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful theatre producing outstanding work right here in Bury St Edmunds. Congratulations to everyone involved! Running until 24 October - well worth a visit! 🎭

15 months after moving into our new-build, we’re still chasing Linden Homes over unresolved defects - including a hole in our living-room floor. We shouldn’t have to fight this hard to get basic repairs done. We feel completely let down by how this has been handled. We just want our home put right. – at Thurston, England

The Conservatives call it “cutting red tape”. In reality, they want to scrap standards that make new homes cheaper to run – leaving families more dependent on gas and exposed to volatile global prices. After a cost of living crisis, why on earth would we go backwards? bylinetimes.com/2026/10/05/c…

Great to see Suffolk Trading Standards successfully cracking down on vape shops selling illegal products in our area. These products pose a risk to public health, and can often reflect wider criminality. I'm glad to see action being taken to tackle this problem - this is important work. suffolknews.co.uk/stowmarket…

A free press is not a privilege granted by politicians. It is a cornerstone of democracy. Trump says he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House. Whatever your politics, those in power must be open to scrutiny. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6e3… – at Thurston, England

In the past 48 hours, Reform UK has received 2 donations totalling £72 million. This is more than the total received by all UK political parties last year.. They still claim to be a grassroots party.. 😂 – at Thurston, England

Reform UK claims to be the party of working people. It has just taken a record £36 MILLION from a crypto billionaire who pleaded guilty in the US to violating anti-money-laundering laws - and was later pardoned by Donald Trump. This isn’t a party of working people. It’s an elite club for billionaires, dressed up in populist slogans. theguardian.com/politics/202… – at Thurston, England

The death of Jason Arday is deeply sad, and the circumstances surrounding it should give us all pause. The scale of the media onslaught he faced was extraordinary. The Times and Sunday Times reportedly published around 44 articles about him, the Telegraph 43 and the Daily Mail around 38 - with many more across other national outlets. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the original story, we have to ask whether this level of coverage was really proportionate. Behind every headline is a human being. – at Thurston, England

Tonight, my partner and I lit a candle, alongside many others, in memory of the life lost, those injured, and everyone affected by the horrific attack at Berlin Pride. Pride is about love, community, and the freedom to be ourselves without fear. We stand in solidarity with Berlin's LGBTQ+ community and with everyone whose sense of safety has been shaken. Hate will never extinguish our pride. Love, compassion, and visibility will always shine brighter. 🏳️‍🌈 – at Thurston, England
