As a startup founder for 15 years, I've learned not to dismiss new ideas quickly.
Instead of asking: "Will this ever happen?"
Ask: "Would we ever go back if this worked?"
If we can customize our Smart PFP with traits that I like, designed by artists that I love, and created by brands that I support, would we ever go back to a PFP that doesn't change?
In retrospect, it was inevitable.

It's always sweaty and smoky when we cook, but
If everyone is afraid of the heat,
And no one is willing to get their hands dirty,
Nothing will ever be cooked.
Let's cook together.
Let's eat together.

Imagine selling your Captainz for 4-5 Eth after the reveal💀
We knew from the start that this wouldn't follow a typical reveal mechanism.
And what about $MEME? Did you forget?
Congratulations to everyone who sold at the bottom. The value of the $MEME AirDrop alone will likely surpass what you were selling at😂
I don't know if it's foolishness or if the current market situation has made you paranoid.
But selling your Captainz shortly after that reveal was a major rookie mistake.

I don't own any @Memeland NFTs, but I'm super excited to see how the Captainz reveal will play out.
Big W if it is successful and sets a new standard for pfp collections.

I don't expect our Captainz reveal to be a smooth ride because it's never easy to push the boundaries.
Before the town hall, I want you to close your eyes and imagine 10 years from now...

Rejected by the NFT industry at first, Captainz is now one of the world's most trusted brands.
The digital collectible generated worldwide sales of around US$1.69 billion in 2033. Neo Chan, Head of Community at Memeland, said Genesis Captainz owners and trait creators have earned more than US$690 million on the Trait Store, a jump from US$420 million reported in 2031.
Memeland's successful formula with Captainz is that it has turned holders into franchise owners. It is able to ride out the product life cycle by collaborating with the hottest brands and creators.
People can customize their Captainz and Captainz+, and use them as their online identity on leading social media like GMGM. Many top virtual idols and metaverse models are also Captainz owners. Forbes Magazine called Captainz the "Barbie & Ken of the blockchain generation".

Don't just let me cook.
Let's cook together.

Hey Baby Captainz, it’s time to grow up!
The Captainz reveal is not like anything you have seen in NFT. At Memeland, we are always micro-innovating and pushing the boundaries, including your patience.
We have 3 goals when we are developing Captainz:
1. Create a PFP that represents you and grows with you
2. Create a PFP that you don’t need to nor want to sell
3. Create a PFP that works with brands and other NFTs
As a Captainz holder, you can:
1. Choose the gender
2. Choose the skin type
3. Choose the traits
4. Report trait bugs and get a bounty
5. Create & sell traits as part of the official traits (cf AppStore)
6. Help expand the Memeland ecosystem as an owner, not a customer
9. And more...
It’s new.
It’s different.
It’s kinda risky.
But if you are a chicken, you are not a Captainz!
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.”
AHOY! 🏴☠️

Your doubts is someone else’s conviction.
Which one are you?

Do you know One Piece's English version was released 20 years ago today (Jun 30, 2003)?
Eiichiro Oda, currently 48 years old, started creating One Piece when he was just 17! Salute to the GOAT! 🐐
We sincerely wish Mr Oda a speedy recovery from his surgery!

Can I be honest with you? IT'S DAMN HARD TO BUILD IN WEB3.
When you try something new, people ask you to repeat the old things.
When you repeat the old things, people ask you to try something new.
When you share more information, people ask for mysteries and surprises.
When you create mysteries and surprises, people ask for more information.
When you have utility, people ask for art.
When you have art, people ask for utility.
When you reveal fast, people dump faster.
When you reveal slowly, people ask wen wen wen.
People ask for more value, but they don't want to pay royalties.
People say they finally got their forever PFP, but they would flip it for 0.1Ξ profit next week.
People call you family, but they sell your ass in seconds when things are not going well.
People sound like they are the best art critics, best business strategists, and best developers combined.
I know.
I know many teams have raised shit tons of funding, done nothing, or done things that holders don't give a fuck.
I know people have PTSD from the countless rugs, hacks, and scams—I feel you because I hold a bag that's probably down much worse than yours.
But when you meet a good team, would you please give them the benefit of the doubt and some time to prove themselves?
If they make mistakes, would you give them constructive feedback instead of destructive fudback?
If they do something right, would you pat them on their shoulders but also remind them to stay humble as the job is not done?
Don't be a hater. But also don't be a fanboy. Be a co-builder that values long-term value rather than short-term gain.
Nothing great was ever built in a day.
Let's build together. Let's grow together. Let's free ourselves from the PvP mindset our society wants us to believe. Let's"go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
To end this long tweet, I don't give you a potato but a tweet by one of my favorite web3 founders:
"I don't know people. Why don't you go start an NFT company and get everything right?"
---
P.S. When I wrote "people" above, I meant some people. I am grateful I've met many great people in web3. ❤️
P.P.S. I wrote this before the Captainz reveal, BTC MVP, or @Memecoin so it feels less like I'm only covering my own ass. 💩
P.P.P.S. Hope you are well @GordonGoner. 🙏
