Aww darlings, I was on set shooting my new film (Details soon I promise💋 ) when I rather casually tweeted this in response to another tweet. A friend just called me now to tell me that it set you guys on fire. E pele ooo. You guys need to learn that it’s okay for other people not to like what you like or to disagree with your taste, you don’t have to become sworn enemies over it. I LOVE Nollywood as an industry and I’m invested in seeing it grow as such I love to see broader representations of it beyond the VCD era Nollywood nostalgia tropes. I also love nuanced representations of Nigerians, our accents, the ways we behave etc. It’s my preference. It’s fine that you enjoyed the sketch, I love that for you. If you felt proud of its representation, I love that for you too. It just wasn’t for me and that’s okay. I still love the Cynthia and British/Naija creatives that worked on it. Nothing against them ♥️ Now as you were. Rara says hi 💋
