Summary of the McMahon Article: •Nico pushed out everyone Luka was close to in the organization •Nico and Pelinka are best of friends and were in bed with each other throughout discussions, and the only other people involved were Lakers execs •Nico didn’t include anyone in the Mavs org other than when greenlighting with Dumont •Nico didn’t didn’t want to tip off any other GMs or agents because he was afraid of it getting out due to public outrage, including Danny Ainge who was literally the 3rd GM Summary: Nico has been planning on doing this for multiple months, he didn’t do any due diligence to get the best deal possible, and the person he ended up doing the deal with is someone he’s already very close to, and he didn’t even get the best deal he could’ve gotten from the lakers. It’s safe to say that the mavericks best interest weren’t in mind here.
