Cybercriminals love weekends—especially against Monday-to-Friday businesses.
In this interview clip, Leland McFarland of Small Business Trends speaks with Tony Anscombe @TonyAtESET, Chief Security Evangelist at @ESET , about what actually happens when an intrusion begins in the early hours of a Saturday morning.
When a network is left unmonitored over the weekend, an attacker receives a 48-hour head start. That gives them two full days to move laterally across your infrastructure, identify high-value data, exfiltrate proprietary information, and disable key services. By Monday morning, leadership is walking into an operational crisis.
Tony notes that while small businesses may lack the resources for a dedicated 24/7 internal response team, modern defense requires at least automated detection and remediation systems capable of containing threats in real time.
How is your organization protecting its infrastructure when your offices are closed for the weekend?
