My son just walked by singing "Hotline Bling" and I told him he better get that homework blinging. What that means, I have no idea.

This is a horrible tragedy and it’s why I continue to be so critical of the foster care and child welfare system. The majority of these families are split up because they are not able to meet their basic needs. It all comes down to money. Now a little girl is dead.

A new report obtained by NBC10 reveals what led to the arrest of Carprice Williams as well as the alleged physical abuse she inflected on her foster daughter, Malayshia Alford: trib.al/HmpeLru
People keep asking why Malayshia’s family didn’t get custody of her as if it’s that simple. As much as a family member may want to take in a child(ren) they have to be eligible as defined by the state. And the state’s definition is vastly different from what most of us would consider as alright. Those people have to go through home checks and background checks. Many get disqualified just off the home check.
That’s why people have complained about the system. They pay foster parents but if a grandma just needed money to upgrade to a larger apartment, she won’t get anything. Or if an aunt needed to move her adult child out so the kid can come in because they can’t pass the background check, it’s all on them. And people don’t have it like that.

They were told #CapriceWilliams should never foster again.
The systems continues to failed children across country. #MalayshiaAllfird shouldn’t have been place in that house in the first place. 👇
In 2021, a 4-year-old girl in Carprice Williams’ West Philadelphia home was hospitalized and nearly died from a traumatic brain injury and severe malnutrition. A review panel of city and state officials recommended she never again be used as a foster parent. She appealed the abuse finding, and it was later expunged.
Years later, 10-year-old Malayshia Allford was placed in her care and now she’s dead.
How does a child end up placed with someone a review panel already said should never foster again? #TrueCrime

#BREAKING | I have questions! 👀
#CapriceWilliams a #Philadelphia elementary school TEACHER just got charged with the brutal murder of the 10-year-old foster daughter, #MalayshiaAlford she was supposed to protect.
Caprice Williams, 36, taught at Cassidy Elementary (and previously worked as a special education teacher at Young Scholars Charter School).
Malayshia Alford lived with her for about 2 years. Her body was found in the trunk of a car in New Jersey after days of conflicting stories.
Cause of death: blunt force trauma.
There were signs of physical abuse.
She had no prior criminal record.
That raises the hard questions nobody wants to ask out loud:
• How many other students did she have unsupervised access to as a special ed teacher?
• Was Malayshia the first foster child placed in her care? If not, where are the others? — and what do their records show?
• Did any previous placements report injuries, behavioral changes, or sudden “moves”?
The investigation is still active. DHS and the school district need to pull every file connected to her.
What do you think authorities should check first — her full teaching history, prior foster placements, or both? I say investigate everything! #TrueCrime
