Excellent printing/handwriting articles that point to the research of explicit teaching of letter formation!
Last weekend at the @ECEC_ATA @albertateachers conference in Banff, Alberta, I shared some of the writing research & the myriad benefits of explicit handwriting instruction.
Not in Banff last weekend? No worries!
Here is a link to my slides with my favourite articles on research-based handwriting instruction: docs.google.com/presentation…

Math in #Kindergarten - we talked about how 1 and 2 is the same as 3 while building silly number block characters. We went on to see what new numbers we could make by adding 1 to different numbers. "___ and 1 more is ____" fun, short, intentional and playful! @howwrdsb
A shift in language from "I see, I think, I wonder" during PD today. I wonder how the responses might shift during the process @apples4theteach

Last year these beautiful portraits were made by a kindergarten class taught by @TracyPick from Passionately Curious Educators. I am thinking of making bigger sets with more colours and materials. Comment if you are interested!

Did something come home from school that doesn’t align to what you’ve been learning? I encourage a pause before posting it and shaming the teacher or school. #todaysreflections
