In the aftermath of Dobbs, several states codified abortion rights. However, many measures only safeguard abortion rights up to fetal viability, leaving gaps in comprehensive reproductive autonomy, according to birth justice advocates

Abortion is sociological, not just political or medical. Read all about it in my new article with Dr. Kimport @ANSIRH. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
Yesterday Prez Biden said he isn't for "abortion on demand." So what?--he wants us to beg, ask his permission, get an approval note from a doctor? Absolutely not. Years of research shows people know when they need an abortion--and then they SHOULD demand one. #abortionondemand
Here's what happens when you have to ask a doctor for an abortion but can't demand it. They decide whether you provided the right kind of gender performance. Check out an article we wrote years ago on the stratified legitimacy of abortion. tinyurl.com/mr2tyb5m
Blue states need to take a cold hard look at how THEY still fail their residents in providing abortion access. It is a complete embarrasment.

Then, the demand was simple: abolish all abortion laws. While the Roe decision legalized abortion, it gave the power to the state and to doctors, not those of us who need abortions. It solidified the government's interest in pregnancy and abortion decisions. We gave up power.
Slightly confused-all the mainstream repro groups are posting they want more than Roe-but they are all sponsors of the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) which codifies Roe and criminalizes later abortions. Please-replace WHPA with something that protects ALL abortions!

Today there's a lot of "Roe wasn't enough." Offering a more strident critique of Roe--justifying abortion in physicians' rights and recognizing state interest in fetal life were BAD standards. We need to decriminalize all abortion, not just reinstate bad legal reasoning.

This is the important conversation we have to have in “blue” states! Abortion reimbursement rates must increase. Thx @TammiKromenaker minnesotareformer.com/2023/0…
The idea that financial investment in abortion is what creates "skin in the game" reflects internalized misogyny. Abortion is health care and covered 100% for anyone struggling at the margins of the US economic system built on stratified access to wealth. tinyurl.com/4kp5admt
