My conditions for successful trading:
- Zeus is in a favourable mood.
- My wife remains unaware of my positions.
- The sacrificial goat is healthy.
- I have drawn sufficient lines.
- The market agrees with my analysis.
I have yet to experience all five simultaneously.
VERY few traders win consistently over the long term. I knew I needed to take a different approach, so years ago I started studying an unconventional way to try to beat the market.
It's called the paradox of indirect pursuit...the idea that big goals (like making crazy money as a trader) are often best achieved by creating the *conditions* for success rather than chasing the outcome directly.
Conditions where:
- your financial future doesn't depend on your next trade (u have a job, business, cash cushion, whatever)
- you can sit on your hands for weeks/months without feeling like you're falling behind
- you don't freak out during downturns
- you can cut a losing position without worrying about getting that $$ back
- you have the time/freedom to wait for exceptional opportunities (not force mediocre ones)
Irony here is that the less you NEED from the market, the more you're capable of extracting from it.
Doing stuff outside the markets might just be the best thing you ever do for your trading tbh. Markets are a multiplier.
Idk, food for thought.
Happy Liquidation Day!
To celebrate Bonfire Night, the gods set fire to the markets.
Longs burned. Leverage exploded. My portfolio provided the grand finale. 💥
A magnificent spectacle.
The neighbours have asked if I can do it again next year. 😯
Record profits for companies.
But massive panic among investors.
A magnificent opportunity for those with conviction...
..unfortunately, I have very little.
Although, my wife assures me I am a financial genius.
She has, however, hidden our savings.
MAJOR bearish technicals on $QQQ in the daily chart
Now substantially below the 200 day MA
Sell side backed by massive elevated volume
Anyone else getting worried for the Qs ?
Every time I buy the dip, the gods reward my conviction with an even better dip.
I have respectfully asked them to stop.
I believe in innovation. I believe in abundance.
My accountant believes I should stop believing in things.
I just bought 30 $SPCX shares on sale today while the market is panicking because Democrats are trying to destroy Elon Musk.
I believe in American Innovation.
I believe in Abundance.
I believe in Elon Musk 🚀
$QQQ is the cheapest it has been in four years.
I shall wait until it becomes expensive again.
One cannot be too careful.
The people of Zcash have announced that transactions shall soon be three times faster.
This is excellent news.
My creditors will now receive their $ZEC payments in 25 seconds rather than 75.
Unfortunately.
Morgan Stanley is bringing stocks and bonds onto the blockchain.
Inspired by this innovation, I have tokenised my olive grove into 10,000 digital shares.
The trees remain unprofitable, but ownership of the losses can now be transferred around the clock.
Hermes approves.
I have studied $SATA, $STRC and $MORE and devised a similar financial strategy.
I shall purchase every male goat in Greece, financed by preferred shares paying 12% annually.
The goats produce no income, but their scarcity will drive prices higher.
Several have already died of old age.
Supply is falling ahead of schedule!
Unfortunately, the Greeks have started buying sheep instead.
The merchants of $NVDA now command the machinery required to create artificial intelligence. Their empire is valued at $5 trillion.
I have spent 30 years developing natural intelligence.
The market has valued it at zero.
The people of @Strategy demand higher dividends, no dilution and endless Bitcoin purchases.
They do not understand the mathematics!
I suspect they have been drinking deeply from a spoiled carafe of hopium.
$MSTR
Management doesn’t need to please everyone.
It needs to make the right decisions.
And sometimes, that means standing its ground.
@CJ_Bitcoin touched on something particularly important around the 25th minute mark of his interview with British Hodl.
He brought up Strategy’s approach last year when management issued guidance that it wouldn’t tap the $MSTR common ATM below a 2.5x mNAV.
At the time, a large section of the community was convinced that common ATM issuance was suppressing the share price and limiting further expansion of the mNAV.
Management responded by implementing that guidance. While it pleased a lot of the community on X, larger market participants clearly seemed to disagree, and the share price fell significantly.
It took just two weeks for management to revise its guidance, allowing common ATM issuance below that threshold.
My takeaway from that episode is simple.
As a common shareholder, one thing I don’t want to see is management reacting to every suggestion, criticism or opinion circulating on X, particularly when it goes against the framework they’ve already established.
Investors will always have opinions on what @Strategy should or shouldn’t be doing.
Different classes of investors have different priorities and expectations, and management has to navigate those competing interests while making decisions that are best for the business over the long term.
Phong hinted at this during his interview with @_DannyKnowles when discussing the possibility of Bitcoin sales.
He acknowledged that @Strategy would consider selling Bitcoin if that’s what the mathematics justified, particularly given that sophisticated investors wanted the company to operate on those principles.
That’s exactly the approach I want to see.
Another example is $STRC.
We’ve had sections of the community calling for an increase in the dividend rate, but I remain firmly aligned with management’s decision to maintain it at 12%.
As CJ highlighted, increasing the yield could attract a different class of investors, but that isn't necessarily the type of capital @Strategy wants to attract.
12% is plenty.
There’s no shortage of loud voices here on X.
But this is the management team that has trailblazed a multi-billion dollar path, and I trust them to continue building on it and take @Strategy all the way to a trillion.
Mission: Strategy.
$BTC $MSTR $STRC
I have consulted the $BTC liquidation heatmap.
Thanatos ☠️ appears to be stalking $76k with professional interest.
Once he has harvested the overleveraged, I expect Zeus ⚡️ to send Bitcoin soaring towards Olympus.
The gods have a most peculiar trading strategy.
If oil breaks out towards $200, I fear the wider stock market may suffer terribly.
I have drawn some lines on the S&P 500.
My wife has asked why they all point downwards.
I told her it was a matter of perspective.
The great treasuries are hoarding Bitcoin. The supply is dwindling.
I dispatched 300 Spartans to seize the remaining mines.
They returned with a computer and an enormous electricity bill.
After several goblets of wine, I believe I have discovered why the AI trade is collapsing: we created algos capable of thinking for themselves and they started selling $INTC.
I have bought the dip to remind them who is in charge.
$PLTR has delivered extraordinary earnings. Revenue up 96%. Rule of 40 score of 158.
I have commissioned a magnificent marble statue of Alex Karp to commemorate this historic achievement.
The sculptor estimates six months for the hair alone.
My wife has questioned the expense.
I have studied this $QQQ model extensively and consulted Athena, goddess of wisdom.
Neither of us understands it.
We are in complete agreement.
