Reporting Progress in the North! Usawa ni Sawa kwa Wakenya Wote!
The Government continues to expand road infrastructure in Northern Kenya, with construction works along the Isiolo–Kulamawe–
Modogashe–Wajir road corridor now over 60% complete.
Beyond economic benefits, the project is expected to enhance peace and security by improving mobility for security agencies, strengthening government presence in remote areas, and addressing longstanding infrastructure gaps that have contributed to the isolation of
communities in Northern Kenya.
The road will also facilitate cross-border trade between Kenya and Ethiopia, deepen regional cooperation, and support long-term stability and prosperity across the region.

The Ministry of Roads and Transport, working with the World Bank, is advancing preparations for the Lake Victoria Ring Road and Roads for Rural Economic Development projects.
Led by Qimiao Fan, World Bank Division Director for Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Uganda, the mission assessed existing road conditions, reviewed proposed alignments and identified key challenges requiring attention in project design and implementation planning.
I joined the team on the ground to assess the infrastructure needs and connectivity gaps these investments are intended to address.
These projects will be critical in strengthening regional connectivity, opening up rural economies, supporting agriculture and tourism, facilitating trade and improving access to essential services.
