Here's a way to increase plant mass by 3x and root mass by 6x that is absolutely free, shown from our planting depth trial. Make sure to run the best planting depth for your conditions. And try a few depths to compare. It's doing the basics, but doing them well.

First report of southern corn rust for 2025 comes from Jackson Co, FL. Thanks Caleb Traugh! While none yet known in GA, corn growers in extreme SW GA with corn at tassel or beyond should take threat seriously. Weather now very favorable for infection and spread. UGA Extension
A good example of what we are looking for with soybeans. 20% of the pods have 4 beans, and there just may be a 5 in there. Average 4 pods per mainstem node. Planted at 110k, final stand around 95k. Grower did a great job.

First detection of tar spot on corn in Georgia today, 5 July. Found in a significant area of field (corn at R5) where earlier aerial fungicide application was not possible because of tree line. Tift County near Omega . UGA Extension

Record Soybeans Made in Georgia
On Aug. 23, Alex Harrell busted a record soybean yield of 206.7 bushel per acre on 2.5 acres on his south Georgia farm, an officially recorded entry in the UGA Extension soybean yield contest. Asgrow’s AG48X9 was the brand.
What nobody told me about being a crop advisor:
1. The pain of watching a crop suffer because of a recommendation not accepted.
2. The indescribable joy when a grower says, "You took my farm from just buying me lunch to making my living from it. You've made farming fun for me."

One thing I strive for in high yielding corn in Ga is plant health. Especially late season. We’ve pretty much nailed it on most fields this year. Brown shucks and green stalks is what we want to see! 💪🏻 🌽 #AgTwitter

2023 is developing into the most widespread and highest pressure from tarnished plant bugs in cotton in my 51 years as an extension entomologist at Auburn. Numbers are up to four or five times treatment level in some fields.

Kicking off weekly data collection with stand counts in our #onfarm #fertilizerplacement study. Thanks to @Traugh_Ag for his collaboration on this project. Also this farming mural on the silos in Colquitt is so intriguing!! #research23 #datacollection – at Blakely, GA
Planting depth matters. Noticed a planter dropping seed at 1.25", moved it to 2". These plants were 12 rows apart. Higher plant stands, more even emergence, better roots. Adjustments cost $0 and can provide great #ROI. Make time to dig behind the planter. Well sown is half grown
What I learned at @ComClassic-
1. People on social media don't realize I'm 6'4". Apparently I'm taller in real life
2. I'm only 42 products that give a "proven 15 bushel advantage" away from world record corn
3. We need better field borders
