I have a story out in the latest edition of Rock and Hard Place Magazine. It's called "Heist at The Picker's Paradise," and its about a couple who rope their dog into a heist at a flea market. Things go sidewise, wouldn't you know it? amazon.com/dp/B0FPMJ5KJS

Jukebox is a great word. A box full of juke. Fantastic. No notes.
Jukeboxes got their name from places they were associated with: namely jukehouses. The ‘juke’ in ‘jukehouse’ comes from a verb of Atlantic creole origin, meaning “to jab or poke.” 🧵⬇️

Just found the absolute worst page in the dictionary. What I saw was disgraceful, disgusting, dishonest and disingenuous.

Big debate on the far-right right now about whether Tyler Robinson’s dad should’ve killed his son himself, rather than turn him in. Tucker Carlson’s favorite podcaster has taken the pro-dad murder side. Healthy culture!
Never. If what he did was so bad that I couldn’t live with it, I’d take him camping and deal with him myself. There’s no justification for turning immediate kin in to distant impersonal authorities.

Most books I consume are audiobooks because I can do things like walk the dog or fold laundry along with them, but there definitely is a special kind of magic in actually sitting down and reading words on a page that make you stop and look up, either to laugh or cry or just vibe

Cool cool cool
Welp, this is a trend: most Americans aren't reading even a single book for leisure in a year. The trend in reading for leisure on a given day (down 12 pt since '04) or reading a book in a year (down to 49%) is clear. Meanwhile, video game/computer use is up by 97% since 2003.

The food of my people is cold cuts and macaroni salad. I kid you not, this was what we all ate after my grandfather's funeral.
As someone who is from a culture where people dont like food i see the memes like “every culture likes food” and its like… i can tell youre not from rural small town america.

Always fun to see how Q-anon types spin this kind of news. Is Elon evil now? Is this all a show? Is Elon just Trump in a mask and that's Trump II we're seeing in The White House? So many directions it could go.

Yes, fiction writers could never have imagined two egomaniacs teaming up and subsequently getting at each other's throats.

I thank election night for reminding me how batshit insane it is to watch cable news networks.

For future reference, "I'd like to know more about your policies," is Midwestern/Rustbelt for "I'm not voting for you."

Well, DC voted for ranked choice even though the Democratic Party asked everyone not to.

I think it will be a good thing if it can actually get through the council. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably should have not gone with Joe Biden as president. Should have gone with like an Obama type or like a Clinton. If you get one of those two-term type presidents you can really coast.

One of my favs is the way moderate Republicans told me my whole voting life that Roe v Wade would never be taken down and anyone who said so was being hysterical.

Watching election results come in on cable news networks before 9pm: "Here's two numbers. Now, keep in mind, they don't actually mean anything. Now let's look over here at a comparison of two more numbers that we shouldn't read too much into."

Apologies to Iowans, whose days of always being politically front-and-center seemed to be over. I didn’t realize how far you were willing to go to win the nation’s attention back
