MODERN ROADS FOR ZIMBABWE…This is part of the road to Sanyati, a town approximately 100 kms west of Kadoma. Sadly, this is the reality of road travel in many of our rural districts. Some stretches are barely passable and resemble roads in war-torn countries. Our rural communities deserve better.
We envision a complete overhaul of Zimbabwe’s road infrastructure, from our major highways to rural access roads. Our #prosperZimbabweplan is to build modern, all-weather roads that connect communities, open up economic opportunities, facilitate trade, improve access to essential services and make travel safe, reliable and convenient for all citizens.
A modern road network is not a luxury. It is an essential foundation for national transformation, agricultural productivity, economic growth and social inclusion.
We will connect Zimbabwe, modernise our infrastructure and leave no community forgotten or left behind.
A Citizens Government in Our Lifetime! Zimbabwe needs a new way.

Finally got my hands on My Sister’s Lover by Dr @Yvonne_Maphosa. A few pages in, and quickly understood why @SueNyathi described it as “unputdownable”.
Always a good thing to see Zimbabwean writers and creatives putting our stories on the page. Supporting our own, one book at a time. Asbonge🙏🏽

I’m unapologetically and proudly an ideas thug! Armed with ideas, driven by conviction and committed to transformation. I terrify oppressors!
A really generous social policy, a derivative of deliberate governance and government positions.

How does one manage to tweet with half a brain and still expect a full intellectual engagement?

What's crazy is seeing racists jumping on every opportunity to reinforce their biases. This behavior is not even a race thing, it's a parenting issue. Yes, he will say 'I didn't mention race', but we all know what this was about, considering his position on black people.

RACISTS GOT 25 MILLION VIEWS CALLING BLACK KIDS TAKING CANDY "RUINING HALLOWEEN." HERE ARE WHITE KIDS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING.
"Look who showed up to ruin Halloween for kids."
One kid dumps the whole bucket into a bag while his friends laugh: "He just cleared out the whole bucket."
Same act. Why does only one version go viral? Be honest.

I have always been fascinated by a particular breed of African politicians in Europe who seem to have made it their life’s ambition to be more British than the British, more French than the French, and more hostile to Africans and immigrants than the most rabid nationalists in their adopted political circles.
You find them in Britain, France, Belgium and across Europe, particularly in countries that once colonized Africa. Many are the children of African immigrants, sometimes the first generation born in Europe, whose parents arrived in those countries as foreigners. Yet their children have somehow developed an almost religious devotion to the most reactionary interpretations of European nationalism. They speak about immigration as though their own parents descended from the heavens with citizenship certificates in their hands.
And I am not talking about Africans who happen to be conservative. I am talking about those who appear determined to prove their loyalty to their political constituencies by expressing a degree of contempt for immigrants, Africans and their own ancestral history that would embarrass even some European conservatives. The irony would be hilarious if its consequences were not so serious.
Because these politicians occupy a particularly convenient position in the racial politics of Europe. Their African ancestry gives certain political movements an opportunity to present deeply contested positions on immigration, race and colonial history through someone whose very presence is then offered as proof that racism could not possibly be involved.
It is the political equivalent of the racist who insists that he cannot be racist because he once dated a Black woman. Except that this time, instead of producing a Black girlfriend, they produce a Black politician with an African surname and a spectacular appetite for defending their ideological prejudices.
What particularly disgusts me is the historical revisionism that sometimes accompanies this performance. Imagine being so desperate to demonstrate your European patriotism that you begin defending an imperial history whose victims included people who looked like your grandparents.
And for what? To prove that you are sufficiently British? Sufficiently French? That your African ancestry has been politically disinfected to the satisfaction of your audience? I find this obsession with proving oneself more authentically European than Europeans themselves intellectually fascinating and morally disturbing.
This is the context in which I examine Kemi Badenoch’s politics. Badenoch is entitled to her conservative convictions, just as anyone else is entitled to challenge them. But her Nigerian heritage does not make her interpretation of British colonial history more credible, nor does it make her positions on race and immigration immune from criticism.

THE YOKE MUST BE BROKEN…
Total liberation from the yoke of oppression, the shackles of fear and the crushing burden of injustice is a divine gift from God. We, the Citizens, deserve freedom, dignity, justice and the opportunity to live in peace, prosperity and security.
No citizen should live in perpetual fear, perennial oppression or incessant indignity. Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of freedom, the One who breaks every yoke and lifts every burden. We remain anchored in our faith in Jesus Christ, who liberates, restores and gives hope. We believe that no burden is beyond His power and no season of oppression lasts forever.
Zimbabwe must be saved. Zimbabwe must be free. We shall be liberated.
“...to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke.”
