I'd rather organizing people to vote for a less hostile governor that will stop kneecapping city budgets

I've had the same conversation multiple times today "Oh you like my shirt? I got it from an instagram montrose meme account. What's the name? Montrose-cellecutals. No, not sexuals. Yes, i am a parent with with 2 young kids at this heights fall festival"
Wife is from DF and I've been hearing about how Houston is not a "Real City" for years. Finally proud to have a shirt that admits they were right

I bet they patted themselves on the back for that sliver of green paint. That must be a whole gallon used

I knew it was over when I overheard 2 girls with a thick valley accent talking about their podcast. Also, shorts

Also glad I was able to catch the last years of that city before Californiacation. I remember partying in Roma when it was still considered the seedy part of town

I feel like this is the before picture and we are missing the after (Austin st wavy asphalt)
As Greater West Houston grows, multimodal mobility is key to connecting communities. Investing in safer sidewalks, regional trails, transit, and better-connected infrastructure can improve quality of life and support sustainable growth. Read more🔗 westhouston.org/2026/10/19/m…

I had this discussion with a coworker when he was outraged about the Harris county tax hike. "Do you know how much property taxes Exxon pays for their refinery? They have a whole department of analysts making that bill zero"

There are no libertarians in a paid parking lot

I feel a slight regret because uptown leaders did try to move in the direction of transit but (predictably) got knee capped by the feds, state and metro by not completing the university line, dooming their BRT extension

3:30 event time, he showed up around 4:10, which is quite punctual for a politician

I shook the mayors hand but didn't ask for a selfie. I was happy to see his support

I feel like the chronicle editorial page is written for a small elite Houston audience that pines for the olden days of H W Bush

When James Talarico is scheduled to appear down the street from your house, you are kinda obligated to go, no?

If only he spent just 10 minutes on Travis seeing these huge buses weaving in and out of the right hand lane to realize how dumb this decision was

My house cleaner used to only work on Sundays since that's when her husband could drive her. I taught her the metro park and ride and rail, gave her a q card and escorted her to her stop downtown until she got confident riding. That was 5 years ago. Transit is freedom
This is like Whitmire bitching about the bike lanes being only for the benefit of a bunch of rich capacino liberals. Go spend a morning on 11th. The primary utalizer of those bike lanes are service industry folks *biking to work.* -OS
