First trip to Scotland since I stopped doing the HT550. With the family in tow I feel reponsible for everyone's enjoyment. Impossible to believe it's not ruined. It's so busy, people can charge £288pn for 1 bedroom flat. And I know the REAL secret. Wild camping is THE best option

Tonight there are #kakapo in the forest of the North Island of Aotearoa for the first time in over a century. We released four into Maungatautari Sanctuary Mountain today. #conservation #returnofthekakapo
Found a balloon on today's walk. "Ash always in our hearts from Rach, mum, dad and nan". They believe she will float on that sparkly balloon for all eternity... I stamped on it twice, stabbed it with keys and binned it with Lena's poo. Thanks Ash, for making my dog shit sparkly. – at Sheffield, England
I've been working with a female senior manager at work and today we wrapped up with one of those "been a pleasure" / "likewise" convo's and on further examination, it turns out we both just really enjoy having meetings where no one is being patronising.
It's been so long.
Remind me...
How do you start to feel better from a cold?
Do I just wake up one day without snot? This one is dragging on a bit 😴

After significant work in organising a coalition to protect the Upper Derwent Valley from any water storage developments, we are pleased to learn that Severn Trent Water are not progressing their plans. We will issue a statement on this news tomorrow.

Well, at least we know where it was exactly on Ben Nevis that lightning struck yesterday, as shown in the @BBCWthrWatchers photo. A video from mountain guide Rich Pyne from Nevis summit at lunchtime. Extraordinary.

Christ, this is thought provoking. And pretty depressing in places. thepathlesstravelled.co.uk/2…
How these racy types resist the skinny dips here is beyond me. #HT550
I feel an incoming Sofian Sehili song post. Singing out loud is the only way to stay awake on the Affric gravel. #HT550
Well, he's held it together this far. I don't know either rider so let national pride take over : come on Angus! #HT550
Popped out for an overnighter with the dog. Quite frankly with this year's #HT550 conditions, now I'm home, I am pleased to see that no-one has finished the race while I was out.
4* all-around undergrowth cover. Excellent sleep. Grey bird demanding Cuck-ie. Lena stole 2 flapjack bites so she's happy. Next Bamford sheepdog trials to cheer some fell racing. – at East Midlands, England
First check of the ht 550 tracker to see who's out front. They're steaming towards Fort Augustus. More 'afternoon tea' than dinner, they'll cruise straight thru. People we possibly know better, setting a more(?) sustainable pace. Still a big group of women where I'd be about now.
