No one understands what these guys (especially QB’s) go through on a mental & emotional level Having a tight knit QB room is like gold.
Classy to see Cutter Boley congratulate fellow QB Jake Fette after the game. Some players in Boley's shoes would not do this. (Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images)

Idk man - y’all telling me if we have 24 CFP teams you aren’t excited to watch more football? 🧐 More parity than there’s ever been!

ASU fans should be excited about this kid. Has moxie and poise you love to see - especially from a young guy (Gutted for Mikey. Dudes a baller)
Jake Fette on ASU’s quarterback room to @SunDevilPBP’s Kevin Turner: “It’s just nothing but love... I wouldn't be standing here with my first collegiate win without those guys in that room.” @DevilsDigest

Always recommended to give refs a heads up pregame if you have any exotic formations or trick em’s to avoid stuff like this from happening Surprised this wasn’t discussed
no one asked ben if he thought a forward handoff to an ineligible is illegal? imo, they prob saw this trick play in some hs or cfb film. different rules. different levels. gotta be pissed at whatever coach got that one installed. smdh.

Agree with this to a degree. I believe most QB’s are better served playing than sitting. Only certain situations is sitting and waiting more beneficial Important to understand every situation is different. A lot of variables

If the Rams were a college program they’d be calling for McVay to be fired. How crazy fanbases can be…

BYU is one of the most underrated environments in CFB. Special!

If only we had the legendary Mike Leach to give his take on why expanding the playoffs is the right move

Assuming they’re trying to force a bounce from Warren and scheming 51 to be there for it Issue is it allows the RG to stay thick on the double team since they’re working to 51 - Buckner’s not able to cross face

It’s been widely discussed why play callers install plays as pure progressions and the advantages to it. Which I know you’ve heard but you’ll never budge. So onward we go!
WRONG is a strong word… the best “pure progression” offenses are based in defender read concepts, that they just give you a starting point! I def think there is an argument they make QBs think less, but is that a good thing & does it help QBs? The argument “defenses are too hard” so we have to do this, is a dumb reason for doing it, IMO! But I def think you can design an offense always to give a QB starting points and teaching them when to stay there and when to get off right away… but at end of day that is reading coverage and not pure progression in its truest form! Love to hear why you are for it and how it the big picture it makes a QB better?

Yep I get where you’re coming from. But don’t you think if Shanahan, McVay, Coen, many others are installing some of their concepts this way - there’s gotta be validity to it? Or you’re still convinced they’re wrong for doing so?
My problem is design primarily… but also asking a QB to read one side of field to other with no knowledge of what’s happening on other side… and also when you can’t move through faster (due to timing of routes 3 & 4) when early progression not good… and also there is no true timing to be taught… And it’s not NEVER run a pure progression play bc we all have and those connected are good concepts… but I hate living in that world bc most don’t force the hand of defense by putting them in conflict, but more based on catching them out of position! My contention is that the nature of pure progression - see if 1 is open & then move to 2, 3, 4 from there - at the end of the day hurts a QB more than it helps them & doesn’t teach them to truly play the game!

So your frustration is the way concepts are designed - which is fine.. and I’d agree with you on many But that’s different than “pure progression is terrible and no one should run them” because many would install ‘Play A’ as stick/out - to over - to (likely backside dig) as a pure progression regardless of coverage
You will call both of these “pure progression”, I would not! WHY? Bc one happens all on 1 side of field off defenders, the other on 2 sides and NOT defender, but hoping someone gets open! 2 completely different types of plays IMO… yes “pure progression” can be done in a way that becomes defender read & those are the only ones I like, bc I can read the defender even if you don’t!

😂 so now a progression concept has to occupy the entire width of the field to be considered a progression? I can appreciate your stubbornness to fight it by any means necessary!
Haha, but in actuality all of them became half field reads that connected to each other… in other words they all happened in same side of field, which more solidifies my point!

Only right that @kurt13warner is calling a game where pure progression concepts lead to explosive plays for Jax

There will be large amounts of 💰lined up for Atkinson & Legree this off season. Atkinson went to Mercer out of HS and Legree was completely overlooked for his size Love it.

It’s actually fascinating when you see how many NFL guys struggle to consistently spin the ball - but can still fit it through a key hole
Jared Goff throws the ugliest accurate ball in the league. I feel like it’s a sweaty hands / grip issue or something. I’d love to compare the Lions prepped footballs to another team in the league. That or get him some rosin spray for his hands.

The Jets running 29 plays on offense is insane… quickest film review of all time

Another one
Colandrea is your typical productive college QB. Tough, athletic, accurate, elite competitor. Likely won’t be an NFL guy (hope I’m wrong) but the kind of guy you can win a lot of college fb games with

Nearly identical to Dante’s today. 2 things: - only slide if you can get down plenty early (some argue dive vs slide) - never slide when trying to get a first down 1. I see so many QB’s get ruled down short because you’re down when you begin your slide 2. Defender is more likely to come in aggressive to prevent first down (leading to bad hits) Protect yourself as a runner to get the first
