After running 48.74 in 2023 and 48.75 in 2024, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s chase of Sanya Richards-Ross’s 48.70 American record ends — and it’s not even close this time, as she runs 48.29 in the #WorldAthleticsChamps semifinal exactly 19 years to the day after Richards-Ross’s record.
