Please join me in thanking & giving special 💙 to our HPD Telecommunicators, men & women who exercise calm in the chaos.
We could not do our jobs on the front lines without their professionalism & patience behind the scenes. At any time, they can save a life.
Thank you, all! 👏
As #WomensHistoryMonth concludes, I'd like to honor the trailblazing women of HPD who serve our community with dedication & courage. Your commitment inspires us all.
Take a moment to thank the women in your life for their strength & resilience. They make a difference every day.
Join us in celebrating the incredible women who continue to shape our city's future. From officers to leaders, your contributions are invaluable. Thank you for your dedication and resilience.
Happy #WomensHistoryMonth!
I spoke with @FireChiefofHFD & shared his anger. I was glad to hear his firefighters are going to be ok and told him we will continue to work with all of our first responders to ensure their safety.
The suspect, 23, will be charged with 2 counts of assault of a public servant.
Tonight a @HoustonFire crew was threatened with a gun while on an EMS incident. Fearing for their lives, two Firefighters jumped from a 2nd story balcony stairwell onto the ground, causing injury
This deadly conduct against 1st responders is outrageous and inexcusable!

💙I want to thank @HoustonTexans for honoring HPD Sgt. Mauricio Valle & his family at today’s game.
Sgt Valle was shot on Dec. 2 & has been working very hard on his recovery. I told him he’s been missed and we can’t wait to have him back at HPD!
Happy New Year to everyone!

A memorable end to the @Ford Critical Conversations at @HS_Ahead_HIS on the city's northside.
For 6 weeks, our Greater Houston Police Activities League (GHPAL) officers sat down with students to see eye-to-eye about issues & craft possible solutions.
Privileged to celebrate Ms. Felia Ferguson's retirement from HPD this month. With an impressive 34-year tenure, she has been an unwavering pillar of service.
Her mother, Ms. Dorrene Brock, worked for HPD for more than 35 years.
We are grateful for their combined contributions.
I want to thank @POTUS and @TheJusticeDept for today's awarding of grant monies to @HoustonTX to hire more officers to protect & serve our community.
We will also receive funds to strengthen mental health & wellness programs for our officers.
