Lede of the day, via @TroyRenck:
After Bo Nix admitted Wednesday that his ankle was slowing his return to form, he wasn’t about to put his foot in his mouth.

#Broncos coach Sean Payton on the 11 penalties. "I am never going to criticize the officials. At one point I said, 'You are doing your the best to turn the TV audience off. You are on a roll.'"
#Broncos coach Sean Payton on Bo Nix's 62-yard touchdown. "I think it answers his question if he can still run. ... For our team offensively, all of those things. The confidence inside the building about his ability hadn't changed it all. Good to see him play well and us block well down the field."
#Broncos clobber Cardinals 30-16. Nix finished 15-for-29 for 222 yards and a TD. He ran seven times for 73 yards -- two shy of his career-high -- and a 62-yard score. Defense bent, but never broke. Waddle upper body injury is a concern. Should know later this week about his availability. Next up: Chiefs. Broncos have to win this game to have a realistic shot of winning the AFC West.
Malcolm Roach cleared of a concussion. Now the bigger worry is that Waddle sustained upperbody injury on a failed reverse. He is slowly walking off the field under his own power. #Broncos #BroncosCountry
Jonah Coleman getting carries in the fourth quarter to seal the game is telling. Won't be long before he is starting given the trust that coaching staff is showing in him. #Broncos #BroncosCountry
#Broncos move ahead 3013 after short FG by Lutz. Nix sits at 15-for-28 for 222 yards and a TD. And a 62-yard scoring run. Marked improvement. Must continue. But necessary progress made today.
Cardinals trick play works, but only nets six yards on fourth-and-12. #Broncos offense back on field with chance to put a game away for the first time with force since Week 2 at Jacksonville.
TD stands.
Dobbins chugs in from 1-yard out for score. That is the kind of response that suggests #Broncos are finally breaking out of their offensive funk. Payton play calls showed confidence in Nix. I get Cardinals defense is not the Seahawks. But Payton trusted him to make plays. Has to happen to give Denver chance against good teams on the road. And Chiefs at home next week. ... Dobbins play is under review...

If Bo Nix can make that throw, #Broncos have better than a puncher's chance against Chiefs. The 46-yard completion to Marvin Mims Jr down right sideline sets up first down at 6-yard line. Then DPI drawn by Sutton puts it at the 1-yard line. #BroncosCountry
That was perfect play call. Well-timed. Well-blocked. And RJ Harvey made great read halfway into it with a nice cutback. Finally #Broncos offense showing signs of life. Denver leads 20-3 with 10:26 remaining in third quarter.
Adam Prentice with the blocked punt. Did not have that on my bingo card today. #Broncos take over at their own 38-yard line. If they could put together a TD drive would be in cruise control with way defense is playing.
